Country. Rock. Soul. Alternative. Stir Cove has it all…and the Summer Concert Series is back. Few venues in the metro area can rival its scenic skyline view and natural outdoor acoustics. The 2007 summer concert series stands-up to its unparallel backdrop kicking off May 25th with alternative rock band, CAKE. This season’s line-up features a wide variety of entertainment including Ben Harper and Blue October, as well as timeless favorites like Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris. More acts to be announced; see list below.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 21st at 10 a.m. and will be available at the Harrah’s Gift Shop, by phone at 1-888-512-SHOW or at www.stircove.com.

Joan Jett...a little to young for her but I did like her one hit. That Jukebox song.
Cake...oh yeah!
I will save some embarrassment and not mention a few others I wouldn't mind seeing.

Is CAKE a good band? I've never heard of them before. Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang would be great shows to see. I saw Peter Frampton a few years ago and he put on a great show. Lot's of his old stuff and some of the newer songs he had at the time.

Cake (often written CAKE) is a band from Sacramento, California, formed in 1991. It has had several hits throughout the 1990s and 2000s from its five recorded albums.
Although Cake's music is often classified as alternative or indie rock, it combines multiple musical genres, such as funk, ska, pop, jazz, rap, and country. Cake's music features droll lyrics rife with word play and syncopation (laconically-voiced in a rap-like style by lead vocalist/guitarist John McCrea), catchy distorted guitar riffs (courtesy of guitarist Greg Brown until 1998, and bass player Victor Damiani until 1997), and a solo trumpet (played by Vince DiFiore). Cake's unique approach to arrangement, composition, and instrumentation has been compared to Soul Coughing, They Might Be Giants, Talking Heads, The Cars, and Camper Van Beethoven.

And I don't because I don't have a vag, but thats cool. Why would Stir even book these guys for a 21+ show being the majority of their fan base is 13-19 y.o. emos?
Cake is pretty hip so check 'em out, some other good music coming to the Cove also, looks like fun.

Glad you liked the vid, I thaugh it was cool too.....I am the guy on the cell phone walking behind Carmen Electra, ( that was a fun job walk behind her all day while they filmed it several times)then I am also in the concert scene at the end when Carmen comes walking throught the crowd the second time I am the guy on her left with the skull hat on backwards ..
