Omaha, NE. – Action 3 News and Hy-Vee Inc. have teamed up to bring news and weather updates to grocery shoppers in the Omaha metro area. This week, Action 3 News began producing thirty-second “Action 3 News Updates” and “First Warning Weather Updates” for the in-house video network at Hy-Vee stores throughout the region.

The updates contain the latest news and current weather forecast and can be seen on monitors placed at various locations in all Hy-Vee Supermarkets in and around Omaha.

“We’re excited about our partnership with Hy-Vee,” said Ken Dudzik, News Director for Action 3 News. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to provide news and weather updates at their stores throughout our viewing area.”

The system allows Action 3 News to send updates to the stores immediately, whenever news breaks or severe weather threatens.

“People expect to have instant access to news and information, no matter where they are,” added Todd Long, Marketing Manger for Action 3 News. “Hy-Vee realizes this, and we’re honored they have asked us to provide this service to their customers.”

Wait, I don't get why it's stupid ? If something crazy is going on and I'm at the store I wanna know ! But, then again, I'm a news junkie I suppose.

Unless it's the weather because my ass doesn't go anywhere when they say there's a tornado 10 miles away. You won't find me hiding back in the freezer area of a restaraunt during a tornado warning.

What's going to happen is that you'll be glued to Hy-Vee's TV screens everytime there's a cloud in the sky with Action 3's promise to be "Your First Warning Forecast".

If there's a tornado, great, let me know. I can look out Hy-Vee's windows and tell if it's raining.

Ok Dave, damn. For starters, I said in aother thread that I shop somewhere else exclusively, NOT Hy-Vee. So believe it or not you won't see me glued to the t.v. at Hy-Vee.

Second, let's leave my kids...all 5 of them out of it. I mean damn if you think it's a bad fucking idea for Hy-Vee to have news on then good for you.

I dunno if was your intention to sound like a prick, and it's not really my intention to be a bitch, but let's not say smartass things about my kids even if I did have 20.

Dave it's not a personal thing against you. But you have to try and see things from my point of view. Every single day I catch hell , about how many "dozens" of kids I have and so on. I get sick of it. If I were some welfare bitch that lived off the system and had the country pay my bills, then I'd expect it. But that's not the case, and people feel like they can say whatever they want still. To top it off every person who makes some shit remark acts like they are the only person who's said anything and it's so original.

Most of the time the comments are without malice, but then others it's not, and it gets old.
