One local sports broadcaster who doesnt want the job is KMTV-3 sports director and Big Sports 590 co-host Travis Justice. The truth is, thats the toughest job in the state, Justice said Tuesday after hearing about Roses exit. Theyre either going to love you, or theyre going to hate you. And I think with the changes taking place, I think everybody was paranoid. If you were associated with Steve Pederson whatsoever, and align yourself with that side of the aisle, I think pressure was always going to be on you. If theres one job I never want, thats the job. You cant keep them happy. Youre not a homer enough, youre too much of a homer .

Said one local broadcaster of Roses explanation for stepping down as play-by-play voice: Its one of the best spin jobs Ive ever seen, and that Roses speech was self-righteous bullshit in the extreme.
