Local teacher has inappropriate relationship with student

The Blair School Board has accepted the resignation of fifth-grade teacher Jim Koontz, effective immediately, in the wake of an "inappropriate relationship" with a 17-year-old high school student. Koontz was suspended with pay on Nov. 29, when school district administrators confirmed the relationship. They subsequently recommended to the school board that Koontz's teaching contract be terminated.

The teacher made a completely stupid move and will now pay for his lack of judgment (ethical or otherwise) and restraint

Why does it matter that she's hot....she was manipulated by an older man who knew better. It had a big effect on her and here you are judging not only her looks...but the looks of her siblings.

You go need to realize 1 thing though. 17 is the legal age. So, the only rhing he did wrong was abuse his power of "control"....or whatever they call it !!

Mike is right. It wouldn't normally be a crime if the guy was not in a position of power or influence. Seventeen is old enough to know what you are doing. I don't feel sorry for either one of them. The only true victims in these cases are the spouse and children of the perpetrator.

here's what you need to realize.
you didn't get told most of what happened...obviously. the schools didn't want all of the information leaked and the actually story of what happened got skewed the longer the news was reporting on it. i am her sister...i know the whole story...i also know exactly what information has been fabricated...
bottom line...
i was just upset that the actual substance of this thread got lost by some asshole questioning if my sister was hot...like that even matters
it destroyed her senior year...
she became more of a rumor than a person
yes she should have known better, but you have no idea what kind of trouble she was going through at that time...she was extremely vulnerable and felt alone. he figured that out and exploited it.
