Journal Broadcast Group Stations Honored with Seven Nebraska Broadcasters Association

Omaha, Neb. – Three of Journal Broadcast Group’s Omaha radio stations and its television station were honored at the 2008 Nebraska Broadcasters Association Awards, held Thursday.
Both Big Sports 590 (KXSP-AM) and Channel 94.1 (KQCH-FM) were honored for their service to the community: KXSP for its Von Maur Auction that raised more than $21,000 for the Westroads Victims Relief Fund, and KQCH for its annual Diaper Drive that collected 450,000 diapers for The Lydia House.
Additionally Z-92 (KEZO-FM) received the award for Best Promotional Spot for its CD Side Weekend.
KMTV Action 3 News was honored in four categories:

Best of Category (Commercial/Promotional Best): Nate Gasaway for “McCarthy One Hour Heating & A/C”

Best Promotional Spot Announcement or Campaign: Gold Award, Nate Gasaway for “McCarthy One Hour Heating & A/C”

Best Promotional Spot Announcement or Campaign: Silver Award, Tim Tschudin and Todd Long for “Breaking News on the Web”

Best Newscast: Silver Award, Action 3 News
