FYI

I've made some upgrades to Home ~ Yet Another Great Band Name (aka yagbn.com).

Visitors can now add comments to bands they like or don't like, without needing to register, and numerous bug fixes were implemented.

There is a caching issue/bug that is haunting parts of the comment display, but I should have that fixed within a week.

Mike, just keep doin what you're doin. I use your input to add the "TnT" band names to yagbn.com. Thanks.

There are 3 "sources" for band names on yagbn.com. "Todd and Tyler Radio Empire", TnTU.net", and "Yagbn.com". This gives credit to the source of the great band name.

This evening, I fixed the caching issue, and an email problem with the host, as well as add a link on the great band name pages so that people can use to register their "GreatBandName.com" domain name.

More upgrades just finished testing over the weekend. I've added the ability for facebook users to log into the site with their facebook account, and comment and suggest names for yagbn.com.

When a facebook users does comment, or suggest a great band name, they have the option of posting a message about it to their facebook profile.

Facebook isn't 100% integrated yet, but should be within a week or so.

Updates last night....

  • Cleaned some HTML up so that the site is now (mostly) CSS and XHTML validated.
  • Added "Next band" and "Previous band" links on each band's page for quick browsing
  • Finished the basic Facebook integration with band "claiming" and "reporting".
  • Added a privacy policy for visitors.
  • Fixed some bugs with band "claiming".
