I've added a new feature to Todd and Tyler Unauthorized, an eStore and eBux.

Basically, its "imaginary" money that you earn and can use for things such as changing the way your username works, playing in a lottery, trying to "steal" eBux from other members, and more.

You can also put all your eBux (aka "points" or in the future "Dieks" possibly) into your personal "bank" and draw weekly interest. Paychecks are also paid weekly.

Your current "balance" was the number of posts you had made, but every thread view, reply, and new post earn you more eBux.

The eStore and eBux information can be found at the top of the page for members beside the "Arcade" link.

I'll have more information later when I have the settings tweaked. In the future, you'll be able to purchase "real" things from the eStore, as well as donate "real" money to Todd and Tyler Unauthorized to give yourself more eBux.

If you deposit most of your eBux in the "bank", you'll be immune to anybody attempting to steal money from you. If you attempt to steal money, and lose, then the amount you tried to steal goes to your intended victim.

I'm going to be out most of the day, but some more tips...
1) If you're feeling friendly, you can donate some of your cash to somebody. Including giving away "gifts" that show up on the person's posts.
2) At the bottom of the page that displays a thread, in the posting rules, you'll see what points values are assigned. Currently, you get 1 point for each thread view, 15 points for each new thread, and 5 points per reply.

You get 100 points just for registering
You get 100 points for your birthday
You get 50 points for each referral
You get .01 points for each character in your post (don't abuse!)
You get 1 point for each good reputation
You get 5 points for creating a poll

Put your birthday in your user control panel, members over 30 get a 10% discount. The federal tax rate on items is 3%.

There is a daily and weekly lottery that you can buy a ticket for, if you have enough cash that is. There will always be 1 winner in each lottery!

I couldn't decide a good starting point for everybody's "cash" so I used their number of posts. I may donate more money in the future. For instance, I will be adding 100 points to everybody's account just for their original membership.

There are discounts applied (although you can't see them until you see the item you want to purchase) for being over 30 (I think its "a day over" 30), also discounts for being a "loyal member" (over 120 days).

The "over 30" discount is 10%, and the long time member discount is 8%.

Weekly paychecks are dolled out of $150 for members and $300 for moderators and administrators.

I was immune to thief attempts from members, but I think I have that changed, so I'm vulnerable just like everybody else.

This particular forum hack has a lot of activity, and a lot of updates and bug fixes, so be patient if something works one day, and not the next.

As always, send me a PM with questions, I know I haven't given a lot of details here.

I bought a gift for MMM, its a bouquet of flowers, it shows up under her avatar on her posts, and if you hover over it, it says its a gift from me, with a message.

I also bought myself a steelers emblem that shows up in the same place.

Eventually, shirts, and other real items will be added to the estore (hopefully).

Ok, some questions and answers.....

Lottery
There is a daily lottery (tickets are $500) and weekly lottery (tickets are $1000). As long as there is one ticket in the lottery, somebody will win the jackpot. I won 3/1/06 and got a PM that said I won $10177.19288625 after taxes.

Donnie won on 3/2/06, the jackpot is draw around 11:30pm daily, and the weekly one is drawn around 11:00pm Fridays.

The lottery system says that the lottery ends around 8:30am, but the drawing isn't held until about 11:30pm each day. I would assume the weekly lottery acts the same way.

Paychecks
Haven't got a paycheck yet, and can't force it to pay them, but I would assume that weekly, you would see a PM or notice your amount jump up $150 ($300 for moderators/admins).

Bank Points
There was a question about how to "get" bank points. You don't really "get" bank points, you deposit your "on hand" points you have into the "bank" to earn interest, and protect your money from thieves. Also, if you go to buy something, you must withdraw the money from the bank first because it checks to see how much loot you have "on hand" before allowing you the chance to purchase the item.

Admin/Moderator thief protection
I thought that admins and moderators weren't exempt from being victims in a theft, but it seems that doesn't quite work right. I'm looking into that. It isn't any fun unless moderators and admins can be victims too! I'll try to find out what the rule is to determine a successful theft or not, and shed some light on that.

OK, that's it for now! More later hopefully!

UPDATE: There is a bug in the thief action (from what I saw). The successful thief percentage is now 33%. And I found out how to turn off the thief immunity for admins, so now nobody should be safe!

Cheating
I know none of our valued members will resort to such adolescent behavior, but there are some obvious (and probably not so obvious) ways to cheat the ebux/Diek/Throck system

(I'm thinking of changing the currency to the Throck, the official currency of the Throckmorton National Bank).

Registering multiple accounts, creating scripts to routinely run and accumulate "view" points, changing your birthday to every day, and any other acts to artificially inflate your bank points are all suspendable offenses on this board (and some just don't work in accumulating points). All actions and item purchases are logged, so there's a trace of all bank activity. The bank system author keeps up pretty good with reports of misuse, and most are pretty obvious.
