Even better now is getting to watch back to back opposing ads. Last night I saw pro 423 and anti 423 this way. THe other great thing about living in Omaha is enjoying ads from two states...

Jeremy's gonna be pissed that they're bringing Behlen manufacturing (of Columubus) into the ads. That might be the straw that broke the camel's back. What's next? A dig at Tastee Toppings (Dorothy Lynch?)

What I almost hate more than the election commercials are those commercials for products that have nothing to do with the elections, but they make fun of election commercials. There's some frickin' car commercial that's on right now which ends with, "I'm Danny Gaywad, and I approve this message." Well, Danny, I'd love to drive my fist right through your chest, rip out your beating heart, and have it light on fire while I chant, and your sorry ass is dropped slowly into a burning volcano, all while the girl who's screwing the director lets out a bitching scream, except it's not really her, it's some "screamer" that they hired to do her screams, except it doesn't even sound like the same person. See, that just annoys me. It's like you're watching some animated Disney movie about some singing crab or something, and if there's some semi-celebrity, like Demi Moore or Johnathan Taylor Thomas or some crap, then the singing voice of that same character never sounds anything like them. I hate that almost as much as I hate political ads.

The Washington Post has collect over 150 political ads around the country and has organized them in about every way on their website. Unfortunately, the Ricketts/Nelson mudslinging hasn't made it to their catalog but hopefully it does soon. It's just kind of interesting to see how political candidates all try to say the same things (big on family, values, supports education, etc.) in various forms.

It makes the B.S.-ing I do on research papers look like child's play, and that is quite amusing to some like me

I believe you do feed off of it Donnie... I do too... I especially like noting the decline in politeness and tact, and the incline of innuendo and misguidance. I also note that the general "sheepness" of the public increases as the intensity of the "attack ads" increases. Yet these politicians and their advisory groups cannot see that....

All I do know, (feel), Is this is all about POWER. Plain and simple. And he/she who has the power gets the MONEY! Whenever I hear an ulterior motive on the news, my first question is, "what's the money trail". Who wants the money? Where is the money coming from? How are they going to get the money? And how are they going to cover their asses by using the media?

Why else would a politician spend millions to acquire a $100,000 dollar a year job? It's because of the "benefits. Plain and simple.

I'm gonna run for Mayor in three years. I can't wait until I start getting my "kickbacks" from McDonalds and Dairy Queen.

Neither Nelson nor Ricketts....the ones that ABSOLUTELY DRIVE ME NUTS is Lee Terry.

He can't talk right, he sounds slow and semi retarded. He bores me and makes me nuts at the same time. Why would anyone want a fool like that representing Nebraska? Makes us look "special"
