Roundtable Memories Thanks to Prodigy for Roundtable Memories. I think some of the other Roundtable might be sending some memories or posting some thoughts here.. (btw from Dave: Prodigy aka Child Prodigy goes by "Parlay" here at TnTU) My Friday Roundtable memories......By Prodigy I've had some questions about the Friday roundtable, how it started....how I became a part of it, and lastly, how it got run off of the Friday show. I have been a loyal TNT listener from shortly after day one, way back when TNT taped all the calls and played the listener interaction between songs. I became a frequent caller back to the days when Beat Master, various interns and Donnie screened the calls. I survived the running character purge of '98 when the likes of Salad guy, Shut up guy, Viking lady and others were unceremoniously fired from daily interaction. I stayed in the shadows, calling regularly but not coming out to events. Even after 9 years of calling I had not met TNT in person until I won a spot on the Vegas trip in 2002. We had a blast on the trip and afterwards I started coming to events and hanging with the "crew" Donnie, Jeremy, Midget Brian, Joe for Blue house, Black Tony et all. My first trips to the studio (the old one on John Galt) was in the fall of 2002 to collect cash prior to an NFL football survivor pool. (You can trust Tyler but you MUST make Todd pay up front!) It was cool to see all the behind the scenes that goes to pull off one a sucessful morning show. After a couple visits early in 2004 when Tony and Matt were in the studio as well, Jeremy asked if I wanted to keep coming up. How could I say no? Over the last 2 1/2 years Fridays have been my favorite day of the week. As many of you know, I often travel on business Monday - Thursday and there is no better way to get back into the swing of things on your return than to get up at 4:30 and head into the station. My favorite memories are from times on Fridays where we are all laughing so hard I damn near piss myself. It didn't happen often but more than you would expect at 6AM!. I really liked our Gutter Boyz bowling tour. Piling into a limo with that bunch of clowns, getting drunk and being treated like rock stars in small towns on Tuesday nights was an absolute blast! Fridays were also great for meeting some of the countries best comics that were appearing at the Funny bone. Thanks to Louis Black, Bobby Slayton, David Atell, Tammy Pescatelli, Robert Schimil and many others made Fridays so damn much fun. I will really miss the roundtable during our hiatus from Fridays. We have had a great run of about 2 1/2 years. Everything in radio is temporary. I'm still great friends with TNT, Jeremy, Craig, Tony, and Matt. My only goal from day one of participating in the show, whether it was calling from home or the road or being in studio on Fridays, was to contribute in a way that made things funny and interesting. There are sound business decisions at play that put on on the sidelines while these new cities and town get the jist of what the show is about. Hopefully, as we roll into 2007 we might be able to get the roundtable back. Who knows? Until then, I'll slide back into regular caller mode and look for opportunities to slam that liberal ass, murder defending, body hiding, dog bathing, Higgins in a way that will be funny regionally. Its my quest! Thanks to all for listening! Prodigy Last edited by Dave; 11-01-2006 at 02:21 PM. Reason: edit to add that Prodigy@z92 = Parlay@here

Re: Roundtable Memories OK. I'll give up a story and a memory: I was first approached to do the roundtable some 13 years ago. Todd and Mickey Utah (that's what he went by back in the day) asked me to comment on the news prior to T and T ever airing. Having just graduated from law school I figured that I had better focus on the law. I did not feel that I was abandoning the guys, but doing what was best for my career. Craig was crashing at my place at the time so I listened to the show from the start. Only after T& T were on the brink of cancelation did I jump in. At first, my appearances were infrequent. I did, however, arrange for the firing of Brian Houston and insisted the show go "liberal" and hit politics hard. I suggested they hire Donny Dodge and Lisa Volonac--Donny b/c he is a comic genius, Lisa for her sweater and gravity defiying super excellent breasts. Memories: All of them are swallowed up by one big shocker that I experienced on my 2nd bowling trip. I think it was to Wisner. About half way back to Omaha, Jeremy undressed matter-of-factly, unbuckled Mike's pants and went down on him. I was freaked b/c I thought that the whole Jeremy is a gay slut thing was a joke. So, averting my eyes and very drunk, I look to the back of the limo. Through my gin soaked haze I spy Midget Brian eating out of an industrial sized bag of Funnyions. Tony was sitting next to him cheering at Jeremy and Mike "Drop a tranny on him! Drop a tranny on him!" (whatever that might mean) At that moment I thought it best to gravitate towards Todd who was quiet and not engaged in gay sex. Those are my memories.

Re: Roundtable Memories For those of you who miss Higgins on the show, I have discovered that he has written a few articles for the Omaha City Weekly. I have not been able to read the articles yet, but I have heard they are pretty good. The first article is on the Pete Rickettes/Ben Nelson campaigns and the other article is a review of the Bob Dylan concert that was in Omaha. Rumor has it that he might start writing for them on a regular basis (YES - he will still keep be an attorney). Congrads Matt.
