| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication I've been a big Toby and Travis listener since they first came on the air here. I am one who is not to sure I want them syndicted as I enjoy the local spin. I will give it time to see if they still grow on me though. One thing I can tell new listeners is that there are national comedians, actors and actresses who's favorite show to do call ins on is the TnT show. Many have become friends because they enjoy TnT's format more than other stations including east and west coast stations.

I'm sure, Ryan, that if for nothing else, you (and I and everyone else here in this thread) have provided more "ammo" for TnT to bash this site, if they so choose to continue doing. Personally, I *think/hope* their recent gentle bashings of the "40 members" of this site helps TnT mask their own fears a little bit. Besides, how could they say there's only 40 members here? There's at least 50

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication RYAN11R I to am from the Wichita area and I agree with you that T95 crowd is a music crowd and that the ratings will fall. The answer that I got from Ray Micheals is that Phil and Hank were carrying a rating of #8 in the Wichita market. Journal broadcasting in Wichita has 6 or 7 stations itself so a weak radio market is not the issue. A morning talk show isn't wanted on the station that boast about being the #1 rock station in Kansas. The move is totally about money! Well the one good thing is the amount of complaints Ray Micheals is getting at T95 and Wichita voice your opinion by calling or emailing Ray Micheal the program director of T95. Large corporations do not care about the opinions of the little guys or the small customer just what brings in the big money. I have listened to T95 since it was started in 1979 and today as the commerical on T95 says "if you dont like what we play pay your radio bill" well this long time listener paid my xm bill and will listen to the Bone yard to get my music fix. By the way Hank will be doing the midday show on T95 taking Ray Micheal's place. Phil will be on the FOX 104.5 another journal broadcasting station. Its to bad that they used the excuse of ratings to take off a morning show that cared about the market area they were from. Last edited by ZacMacky; 11-08-2006 at 11:17 PM. |

Radio is all about the ratings. To say that ratings weren't a major factor in PnH's shuffle off of morning radio would be folly. If it's all about the money, as you say, I suggest you get together with your buddy and offer to do a radio show for free. If money was "totally" the reason, T95 would jump to put your show on the air (because obviously you would be the cheapest). Let me know how your bid for morning radio talk show host at T95 goes...I wonder if the PD you enjoy to bash would mention something about needing talent to get ratings as he respectfully declines your local brand of wacky morning radio... TnT were syndicated to markets within JBG that had struggling ratings and were decent fits for their type of morning show. I guess you don't think a rock station should carry TnT, but KEZO of Omaha does exactly that...and did we mention TnT have dominated this morning radio market for years? Since TnT have been doing this job (extremely well, too, according to those damn ratings things you don't apparently believe in...) for a decade, I think you could at least wait until anywhere between two weeks to a month after they've been syndicated to your market before trying to rip them a new asshole. At that time, when you can provide several weeks' worth of supporting evidence to defend your argument, be my guest. I won't argue with you after you gave the show an adequate amount of time and listened critically--some people just don't like the show. Some are morally opposed to TnT's belief that people should have pre-marital sex and some can't handle liberal points of view. It seems, however, that most can and do overlook the small irksome things and enjoy the show (but what the hell do ratings mean, in the grand scheme of things?)... I won't be foolish and believe money didn't have a part in TnT's syndication to Wichita. As the boys have talked about on air, they wanted to reach a larger audience. Had their bosses at JBG not given TnT the opportunity to expand into other markets, the show would have gone to a suitor station in Seattle (apparently not a Journal station, either). To appease TnT, JBG offered them two company stations in different states as testing grounds for the "new" more national show format. As an aside, TnT have implied that they are looking outside of JBG for stations in other markets, so I don't think they are restricted much in that regard. The fact is, TnT would broadcast to a larger audience. It was going to happen. Also, JBG would have gotten rid of PnH because of the lack of ratings. More reality. Had the PD not chosen TnT to fill the void, some other show would be attempting to raise T95's ratings in the near future. JBG thinks they can accomplish both goals by syndicating TnT on T95 starting next Monday (11/13). Hold off on the hate and give the show a chance--understand that change was inevitable, though, and then listen with a fair (critical) ear. Perhaps you and Ryan11r will change your opinions over time. I think you might, and we at TnTU shall wait and see

| Fear me, if you dare! | Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication Ok, lemme address this long and interesting thread. First Zac, everything is about money. Let me just say that I was never a talk radio listener until Todd N Tyler...Toasted and Tasty, whatever you wanna call them. I hated talk radio, I HATE the Huskers, and I do consider myself a relatively intelligent person. I teach 8th grade, am a 31 year old mom, I support local music, (3D anyone?) and yeah I'm hot too...that's beside the point. I always listened to CDs, but once I started listening I realized that under their dick and fart jokes there is some real substance there. Tyler is totally oppinionated, and he always has something to say, but it makes sense even if I don't agree with it. They have great in studio guests, and sometimes that includes music. I have heard some great stuff that I wouldn't have normally heard. They support sections of the population that are not always integrated into radio shows. I have to admit I was a little worried that when syndicated they would lose all of their edge. I don't think that has happened, and I hope it won't. I also feel your pain, it is hard when a radio station you have listened to forever changes its format. That happened to me a couple of years ago, but you have to give the new stuff a chance. Then feel free to think it sucks. As for TnTU, we totally rule, and regardless of your opinion you are welcome here. I mean after all we put up with TNT_Tony forever...inside joke. Dave and MMM are the king and queen of our kingdom, so don't piss them off. Feel free to piss off Thender, 2Ox, OB1, Bud, me, Josh, Donnie, or any of the other frequent flyers. There is this one girl you should look out for named TeacherGirl...she is crazy! As for TnT...give it a shot. Worst you lose is a little of your time, but if you are working, or driving...you aren't really even losing that.

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication Well My radio bill is now paid too! The move isnt the reason why it just got me off my ass sooner. I know ratings are money. And money is the bottom line. Futher more I dont care If they think this is the right move well there way wrong. Ask Ray when there ratings went away. I bet its the same time as Bob and Tom coming to Wichita. Those who dont mind talk or want talk went to 107.3 or now 98.7 or AM whatever. Those who wanted Rock stayed with T95. Well thats gone now so They have to hope they can get some folks to switch from bob and tom or whoever over to T95. T95 or TnT didnt reinvent the wheel so I dont think the whole city is going to make the move. For those that want rock Maybe the Fly will be back up and runing soon! Much like those who Listen to 107.3 now T95 listeners will Get caught up in more traffic crap now that traffic info will come during the breaks every 20 minute or so. |

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication First off let me say this I never said that "TnT Sucks" or condemned their show. All I did was point out that this comes down to bottomline is money. As a business man that covers all of Kansas, Western Missouri, Eastern Colorado, and Northern Oklahoma. I don't need an economics lesson from from a wanabee. Next if I wanted to be in radio I would buy the station and put on the deejays that I want, but a radio station does not make the type of money to concern my time. The entire reason I got on here was to find out what was replacing PnH. As a very open minded liberal person I do love a good fart or dick joke, or a good Larry the Cable guy cd(which I own a copy of them all plus a copy of Health inspector). Next I stated this "that I paid my xm bill to get my music fix" not a talk show fix. As Ryan11r pointed out PnH was not just 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. of all talk, they played music for 15 mins at least before talking for a few mins about local events, local clubs, local music, etc. To Ryan11r Ray Micheals did say that "107.3 the road was kicking everyones ass in Wichita." So T95 now in its change of format to a morning talk show and the music format goes to older classic rock instead of the combination of newer and older rock as it was, all to emulate its main competitor that is "kicking it's ass." In business I set standards for my competitors to copy not the other way around and that's what needed to be done. The ratings that this decision was based on was the age grouping of 24 to 54 as per the T95 Program director. Where were the rating stats on the 18 to 24, and 16 to 18, those were not used in the reason of change due to ratings. To you TnT diehards - PnH Show "that was called what silly or stupid by a TnT diehard that says I should give them (TnT) a chance- DOGGED PnH WITHOUT Knowing anything about Phil and Hank. Which it is what caused my response on this blog. By the way PnH show jokes were the fart and dick jokes and most of their programming pushed the envelope as much as possible. Remember the family farm or the Neighborhood grocery etc. they all went the way of big business as is the local radio morning show......... In the future everyone will be paying their radio bill, example your cable or satelite tv bill. |

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication ^ I don't know exactly what message you just tried to convey, but I hope you give TnT a chance... And if the comment about dogging PnH was directed at me, I seem to recall only saying that their ratings were less than satisfactory...or crap...or something like that. EDIT: I checked...I did say Phil and Hank were terrible. In ratings. Reading that entire paragraph clarifies my assessment of the PnH show as being "crap"--feel free to reread my comments, and thank you for doing so. Now I have to look at what I typed earlier... EDIT: I did, see above --Dr. Donnie Opinion UNL College of Law, Economics, "wanabee"? Thanks for posting ZM, I hope we can continue the lively debate...can't wait to hear your opinions on the TnT show after hearing them next week!

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication KU Donnie, I will let you know what I think of TnT cause I promised Ray Micheals to check the show out. Being a man of my word I will do that, and after that I will give my opinion on TnT. But you know as well as I, higher ratings draw big dollar sponsors which is all about the bottomline. |

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication Here is the reason I say that it is "the excuse of ratings" this is copied right from T95'S website - Catch Wichta's Favorite Lunatics in the morning. The Phil and Hank Show hits from 6am to 10am Monday through Saturday on Wichita's Pure Rock T-95. Phil and Hank wake you up with great tunes, and their hilarious (and mostly dirty) wit. Wichita's # 1 Morning Show!! The Phil and Hank Show...ONLY on Wichita's Pure Rock T-95! - this is still on the site. KICT-FM |

| Re: Todd and Tyler get another new station in syndication Well I heard alot of the show today. It was just what I thought it was. Not only did I not think it was funny but the sound SUCKS It sounds like its recorded on 8 track and then replayed. But atleast now I know that the worst topless bar in Wichita is still open becuase they are the only one buying adds now in the morning. Im sorry but if thats the best show they can put together for day one in a new market then they might aswell give up on sydication. T95 needs needs to go back to rock and stop trying to copy 107.3 |

However since it's a fan site we don't take it lightly when people start putting down the show. You are right to have an opinion and you have voiced it. If you wish to continue to put down the show then start your own website.

Call the show at 1-877-931-4868 and tell TnT they suck. I won't necessarily argue that today's show was the greatest, but (as I've said countless times before in this thread) give them at least two weeks before you attack the show. Attacking them after one day, especially when there were no guests, does not allow you to adequately compare the TnT show with PnH's old one. Regardless, the majority of this site's members don't care about PnH...that show was pulled off the air because T95 chose to support TnT instead. In addition, advertising works, and you proved it. Now I know that a local topless bar in Wichita advertises, and you realize it is still open. Arguably, if you thought about the bar at least once today, the advertising did its job, so thank you for listening! P.S. T95 isn't trying to "copy" 107.3 (the station that carries Bob and Tom...), what they are actually doing is "competing" with that station. TnT beat BnT here in this area through that crazy "competition" concept, and perhaps they will win the airwaves battle in your market as well. Hard to do it in one day, though, so hang tight and get back to us after a few ratings periods
