Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

I dont know if its experience or education they are looking for. I think the corporate world confuses experience with education and tend to destroy what works for education when they confuse the two. If we look at the situation since TnT have become syndicated, not only has the format taken a change from the local scene that got them to where they are today, but so has the image of who they want to staff the show for a larger if not possibly national audience. Craig is fairly new to the show but during the show he also contributes a large commentary between TnT. Most days I dont hear much out of Jeremy and I dont know if its because he's so busy answering the phones or just cannot think fast enough to put in his two cents worth. I'm not knocking Jeremy by any means but I'm guessing that they want someone that can interject their own personality into the conversation quicker and more "smart". If Journal Broadcasting had any kind of balls they would try and help groom him rather than shove him aside because they want more for less.

I really get the feeling that is what they want. Someone who will do more for less. They are also willing to sacrifice a chemistry that has developed over the past 5 years and might of even SOLD TnT on the idea that they need someone else to progress the show and fill their wallets. Honestly, once a show becomes syndicated they tend to become sell outs for the sake of their wallets. And corporations like to "anal-eaze" their way into their way of thinking. Corporations are money hungry, TnT are money hungry. Can you blame them? Thats what the world revolves around and worships anyways is the "almighty dollar". I'm sure on some level that TnT agreed to this because it only helps their wallet get fatter. Great salesmen and free cars from Tincher tend to change ones perspective along with more vacation.

Lets face it. When Jeremy spoke in class today, pun intended, he didnt gain anything rather than a dirty sanchez.

Good luck to you Jeremy wherever you might go. You helped make the show what it is today and will be greatly missed. But just remember some of the best days of the show after they gave up their gimmick stunts to promote themselves came from you. Take care "Jerry".

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

First off, yes I agree Jeremy will be missed.

Now, Jeremy has a job to do. Answering the phones, working on the podcast, booking guests, so he is not really supposed to be a voice heard constantly. Craig, on the other hand, comes in and reads the news, then comes back for entertainment news. So, of course Craig should be heard more.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

If you read the job description I think TnT better watch their backs. Journal wants someone who is creative ? (hey guys, let's see how much water contestants can drink for Billy Joel tickets) someone who understands pop culture ? (who can understand that sh*t? Does that even fit the listening audience?) someone who can talk politics ? (we get enough of that on the show already). A proven winner ? (what does winning mean to a radio show producer? ) It looks like instead of a call screener they want someone who can bring more discussion to the show. As I said watch out TnT, you maybe the ones fighting for air time if you get a producer that meets the above qualifications.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

One thing I think we have to remember as we down another one for Jeremy!!! That with time all things change some good and some bad remember the meltdown of ex newsguy Brian and then we got Craig (thank GOD!) Also when Donnie quit for the nobel public service of fireman even so we got Jeremy which was great for the callers because more Germans got over the Berlin wall than got onair with TnT with Donnie as screener although one funny somebitch as(fake Larry the cable guy) and others, Jeremy brought A lot too the show AD(After Donnie). So if this is true and not A bit or A bad dream good luck to you my radio friend so take your Balls down from under your producers mike and go out like the man you are...... not the sniper you could be!

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

1st - I want to know - how is Jerry supposed to feed the "fake" kids and little Jerry Jr?

2nd - He put me thru most of the time and I appreciate that. I thought Donnie was funnier with his voices and stuff, but he could be an ass on the phones. I thought at the time, how will the show do without Donnie, but it kept right on going. I am sure it will without Jeremy too.

3rd - I will miss Jeremy's wit on the show. Hope everything works out good for him and his family. This may be a good break for him to go find something better!

4th - I want some soft serve Megan! Going to have to start hitting them all in omaha and asking for Megan, the radio stalker!

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

Just my 2 cents...

So Jeremy isn't qualified any longer? Are they getting new technology? Because any other employer would send someone for training if there was new technology that was going to be used. Think of the cost of hiring a new person to do what "Jerry" does.

There is more than we know about this decision and it sucks. I know we will all still continue to listen because there is nothing else for us to listen too.

I'm worried that Craig will be next and that will truly be sad.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

I’ve never been a fan of Jeremy’s the laugh is annoying and when he says something he thinks is funny and the guys don’t respond he keeps repeating it over and over—like he thinks they didn’t hear him. But I’m not here to bash him. I think the situation is about growth. They need someone that can bring in Big Guest. That’s what syndication is about. All the big name guys that are on have been there for sometime. Larry, Jack…It seems like they don’t have big name guest like some syndicated radio shows have. I didn’t explain this well but I hope you get the point. On another note, TNT has major pull within Journal. We do a lot of work with the local office and the corporate office, when we are @ the corporate office and we tell them we are stationed in Omaha they always talk about TNT. I remember about a year ago they told us that TNT brings in more money for the Company then anyone/place. They said a percentage but I don’t remember what it was and I’m not going to guess and just write it here like it’s a fact. Anyway I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t have stopped this if they wanted.

TNT doesn’t want a gimmick show and that ok, but I think they need someone that gives more input then Jeremy—He’s a busy man and its not his fault—but they need it to grow. Having Craig do news from (630-1000) gets boring and they need something else to as they put it “Fill Time”. (630-1000) may not be true but that’s when I get up, besides Travis’ news, and maybe a guest it’s all Craig’s news. I’ll listen sometime and see how much of the show is actually Craig’s News. If I’m wrong I’ll say so.

Good luck Jeremy.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

My turn: Let me be honest...I love Jeremy. I didn't listen to the show when Donnie was the producer, so I have no comparison I guess. However, TnT are older than I am...as a matter of fact I think Tyler's wife is older than I am, and Jeremy is their connection with my age group. Austin is too young, Trav and Craig are the same age (or close) to TnT. I think it takes a hell of a person to put up with their constant gay jokes, and hunting jokes, and old lady jokes, and do it all with a smile and while putting up with callers. Let's face it, some callers have something to say, and some just wanna be on the radio. I feel like it will be missing something without Jeremy, and that royally sucks.
I liked when they made it so Jeremy could chime in whenever he wanted, and the fact that it sounds a little different makes it even better. Corporate or not, pressure or not, it sucks, and I am not happy about it.
Last year TG and I made asses out of ourselves at the Gold Tournament, but before we got THAT drunk we chatted with Jeremy for quite a while. He was a great person, and a real person, and not so big-headed that he wouldn't talk to the only two chicks in the party tent! So for that I think he is cool. At the Anchor he is always out walking around, checking the crowd, and talking to people. That gives the show a very real feel.

I am sure no matter if TnT stay in Omaha or not we will hear the show through streaming, pod casts etc. However, the real feel of the show is slowly draining. When the "Empire" came into being we all tried it out, but the more things change...the more they change. For now Lynniebits will hold on in hope, but I had my doubts in the beginning, and they are not reassured now.
As for Jeremy...I can't offer you a teaching job, and I don't need a producer, but if I did I would hire you. It could always be worse...you could have been fired from Rocket in the Morning.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

So I submitted my Resume to Journal Broadcast for the position, I know its a long shot considering I have a degree in Computer Technology, but I figure what the hell i'm 20 years old I am a total wise ass (TNT will love that)...I call that being Well Spoken to Journal Broadcast ;). Only thing I am not so good in is I would need training on Digital Editing and Booking guests!

But i'm a IT guy so uploading the podcasts and updating website info would be no sweat, and part of my job right now at Werner is screening calls.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

Mike - Have a seat on the couch and let Dr. MMM talk to you..

Eric.. I would like to say best of luck to you.. but I have to say this also.. Right now we are all going through the grieving process (yes like Jeremy died). It does suck that Jeremy will be gone and I have noticed I don't hear him much anymore and I think many of us already miss him. Since this is also the tribute thread to Jeremy - I don't think we are really ready to read about people who are trying to replace him - kinda like the step parent that can't wait for the real parent to move out so they can move in. Please realize that this isn't a slam to you.. just kinda of a respect thing for him.

Lynn - I completely agree with the age thing.. Todd and Tyler and Craig are all older than us by about 10 years. Travis is closer to our age than you realize but he just isn't someone that most 30 year old's can relate to - I mean honestly how many people do you know that have only slept with one person - NONE. Jeremy was like many of us - someone we could relate to. He also was trustworthy. If they get someone younger in - I won't be able to relate to them - but maybe the 20 year olds can, but I would think it would be better to attract 30 year olds as they have more money to spend with advertisers than 20 year olds.

Eric - please do not take this post or thread as I bash on you.. Maybe it is the fact that I have been up for almost 24 hours without sleep, but it seemed kinda odd that a thread that had lots of action just died after your post. I think it made some people feel kinda odd. After all this is the thread for Jeremy's eulogy with the TnT Empire. Hope you understand what I am saying.. Luv ya.. MMM

I have been a z92 listener since 1978... weathered all the changes...what

pisses me off is, is that we carry on all these discussions, and no one

pipes in with the actual truth of the situation.. in this case ,Jeremy's

departure. I have been a loyal fan of tnt, but when I hear there will be no golf

tourney, because it is now an empire, I feel like that they could give a rat's

ass about me, the listener. Sorry boys,I might go elsewhere.. The Empire

strikes back. kelly weaver

[humor]
While being a "dead producer walking", Jeremy practices to improve his bow hunting skills in a back room of the JBG offices

A reference to ex-producer Donnie Dodge doing pushups to train to be a firemen.

Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread

I'm upset Jerry is leaving, but more upset in a missed my favorite T.V. show kinda way. Not choked up here like some of you who seem hurt by this. Gotta give Jeremy props for puttin up with all the crap from T&T and Trav and others. If Trav threw one of those deamining "fake kid" slams at me I'd btch slap the hell outta his fat ass. Not Jerry, he took and fired back, thats more than I could do.

Seems like a nice guy Jerry does. Except the time my wife called the station about getting into their calender and he took that opportunity to sleeze on her. Even after she explained she was married and all he continued to flirt, what a dick. Pissed me off at first but it did make me chuckle a bit as I thought "This guy's got some balls." lol. Some of you need to just cry let it all out and move on, christ.

Jerermy I really wish you best of luck buddy. And let the show go on. Can't listen anymore then tune into Bob on Tom mornings.....then start punching yourself in the head.

I couldn't disagree more, Boiler. Obviously those that have met Jeremy and posted here have nothing but great things to say about him. I've been listening to the show since before Jeremy joined and I'm going to miss him and all that he brings to the show. Personally I think that it's pretty cold that TnT are selling him out, but that's another discussion.

You seem a little bitter that he flirted with your wife on the phone. I suggest getting yourself a book on tape to address your insecurity issues, then maybe you can cry it out and move on.

Damn it how did you know Uranus. I am actually the one who got Jeremy fired from that time 3 years ago when, on the phone, he sexually harassed my wife. I have NEVER been able to forgive and now he gets what he had coming from 3 years ago. Yes I am VERY insecure.

Uranus I suggest you get a book of reading comprehension,on tape of course because that would be stupid if it were a book. Listen to it. Get a book on tape of sarcasm, listen to it. Reread my post and then maybe you will see where I'm comin from. Thanks for readin though, NOOB!
