Throcks: 103 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread Donnie - Yes thank you.. The thread needs to stay on topic (the threads under the TnT show need to stay on topic). Hey guys - we love the fact that you two both want to post but just keep in mind - the basic rule here is no trashing others here.. Last edited by MMM; 02-22-2007 at 06:20 PM. |

Throcks: 100 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread Well, here we go. The boys have lost control of their destiny with this move to the "Empire". They've lost their producer and who knows what is next. Quite frankly, while I never agreeed with everything they said, I always enjoyed how they said it. I was entertained. Now, with the move, I'm not that entertained. It seems like a rehash of the same topics everyday but just not in as funny of a way. Back to Jeremey. I feel horrible for this kid. He has a new baby and that it just simply a scary proposition to go back out in the real world. Good luck to him. Quite frankly, good luck to the show. I'm just not sure how its going to do. |

Throcks: 100 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread I'm not even concerned with the show or how much it will change without Jer..I didn't think it would be the same when Donnie left but it recovered and continued. The first thing that came to mind when learning of Jeremy leaving was his situation, not the show. I really hope he is able to quickly transition into another field or job or career and that he does well and his family is ok.Thats whats most important here. Thanks for the laughs and good luck Jeremy. The show will continue and maybe even improve.

Throcks: 103 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread To all of you that weren't fond of Jeremy - fine - personally I thought he did a great job and I will miss him. It is pretty easy for some of us to judge what he did or how he did it, but how many of you actually saw what he did? How many of you heard him interact with guest? I guess what I am saying is he is leaving - so is it really necessary to talk trash about him now?? I mean really what is the point. Tribute usually is a good thing not a bad thing.. SR - you know I have to disagree with some things you said, but this isn't the place to hash those out - another thread -perhaps.. haha.. |

Throcks: 100 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread If this were a Husker board, some people would have been evicted..... I like Jeremy. Do I have to love everything about Jeremy? No. But he did a good job making contributions to the show (especially allowing me to add my 2 cents when I called). In life, challenges arise for all of us. Most are not played out in public for everyone else to hear - like getting (was it fired?) or released so a company can move on. Jeremy will be fine. I am positive he has probably had 10 or more offers because we all feel like we know him and think he is a good guy. I wish him all the luck. If something doesn't happen for him immediately, all he has to do is post on here that he is still looking and needs help from the TNTU job search team and we will pull together! As for comments made about Big Voice Guy - haven't we covered this already? He had other contracts in other areas with other stations. That is the way syndication works. Live with it. If you miss him tha much, watch EXtra on a local channel at 6:30. I noticed the change immediately, but I listen to the show to see what TNT are going to say, not what BVG is voicing over. I still think it would be cool (& sexier) if they had Megan do the voice overs. That voice of hers.......you know what I mean fellas? Why is "Trav is a cheap bastard" on a quick button? If you want to bash, go away. Good job hearding the sheep Dave & MMM. Lead them outta here if they can't play nice.

Throcks: 100 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread Okay. With enough ridicule, I'll try and bend this around back to giving Jeremy tribute. Does anyone think this might be a publicity stunt? I remember a few years ago when BW was fired. I think he was fired on a Thursday and TnT announced it on Friday. The following Monday, TnT said that Jeremy had been fired as well. As I recall, they said he joined the Omaha police. I think they even had a different producer that day to help pull off the joke. . .or at least some guy who SAID he was the new producer as part of the bit. Through most of that show, listeners called in to wish Jeremy well. A few were glad he was gone. One e-mailer commented that throughout the years, the only constant is Todd & Tyler. Everyone else gets fired or quits. Implying that TnT might be the actual problem. But by the end of the show, TnT confessed that it was a joke and that Jeremy had not quit and that he was not leaving the show. I really hope this isn't a publicity stunt, cause they've already done the "Jeremy's leaving" gag. And I know TnT don't pull publicity stunts. But it IS a ratings month. Er, well. At least for the TV networks. Toad |

Throcks: 100 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread But just because he got fired from the TnT show, why does he have to be fired from Z-92 or Journal? He's very well versed for voice work. He does occasional radio spots. Granted, he's over-qualified to be a DJ, but it seems odd they wouldn't just shuffle him around. Before he was the TnT producer, he was a file clerk or something to that effect at Z-92, wasn't he? I mean, unless he seriously did something wrong to warrant being fired, why not just put him in a different position? Toad |

Throcks: 100 | Re: Job Opportunity At KEZO / Jeremy Tribute Thread Gonna say this. Since they got Craig into the fray when it was not a syndicated show and the guy was "banging his mom" the show got some missing life into it. When we had Donnie and it gave it life thru its phase of lets do stupid stunts and the Erma voices the show caught our attention. When the 'banging your mom' guy came in while brian was in doing his thing it became really fun. But you never heard Brian do much laughing. Craig comes along and on numerous times Craig laughs about the guy banging his mom. I have to admit at this point. Jeremy is producing and the going finally gets good. No more schnapps bottles bouncing off of melons, or pig nut biting, etc. The show started to show signs of growing up. As in, " Now that we have your attention lets grow old together" type feeling. This pretty much transpired over the period of time that Donnie was doing the producing. Within that mix, Brian had taken over, and did a decent job but not a great job in my book. The show became a straight line in terms of entertainment. I mean really, thats what these guys do for us every morning. Brian had made things a bit stagnant but brought us the 'banging your mom' guy. By this point that was the most entertaining part of the show. Jeremy came in and had made I guess you could say "guest" appearances prior to this. He essentially sat on the panel and gave his comments. When Brian left, Jeremy stepped in to fill his shoes. The days of pig nut biting had passed and the guys started to take on more political views of both locally and nationally. The local flavor was still there. Now after a few years they have become syndicated and during most of their broadcast they tackle more national views with the same tenacity that they did with the local until 10 in the morning. After the affiliates we still have the 'banging Craig's mom' check in and prior to the time deadline he's just banging anyones mom. For me, it just doesnt feel the same. I mean that whole thing was started back with Brian and carried over to Craig. Once they become syndicated it lost some of its flavor because its become too general for the guy to come up with stuff. Jeremy continues to squeeze in some good stuff. Its tough once you supposedly go national in an 'empire' no matter how small it is. I'm guessing Jeremy was fine as long as it was local. Its easy to relate to local but once it becomes national or "worldly" that maybe he has outlived his usefulness. As I have listened since they have gone 'syndicated' they became more national oriented. On some level thats a great thing and probably fills their pocketbooks well. On the other the corporation still dictates what happens and why and they felt Jeremy didnt fit the 'bigger picture' that they had in mind. Honestly, if a company cares about their employees then they bust their ass to spur on growth for those that bring something to the table. Up until the point that TnT became syndicated, Jeremy brought something to the table and did it extremely well. Very good guests and the like. I just get the feeling that somewhere in the mix that corporate has undermined the show and what it made it succeed to this point for greed. The show wouldnt be where it is today if it wasnt for Jeremy and Craig coming in when and where they did, when they did. If a company wants to keep that kind of synergy to continue they invest in what they have that got them there, not upright replacing it with the next latest model. With that said, Jeremy, your one of a kind. You helped TnT get to where they are today. You were a major part of the show no matter how often you chimed in or not. If anything, TnT should donate a portion of their paychecks to you for helping getting them there when the days started to grow lean. |
