  | Tenacious D Alright, I am probably behind on the times...........but I heard some music by this "group" (if you will call Jack Black and some other dude a group) for the first time today. I have to say, I was rather amused  Has anyone ever seen this live? I would think it would be hillarious.

| Re: Tenacious D D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass) is about the best band for humorus good music. They actually sound like a rock band (very heavy Dio influence...they even have a song titled Dio), but their songs make you laugh. I've never been to a concert but i've seen a lot of concert footage and it was hilarious. If you want to know more about them you should pick up their DVD - Tenacious D: The Complete Master Works. I got mine at Homer's but i don't know if they still have them. the dvd has tour footage, music video's, the complete HBO series (5 or 6 episodes), and short films made by Jack and Kyle.

|  Re: Tenacious D I have actually done "Tribute- The greatest song in the world" at Karaoke...and i freakin rocked the joint!!! Just a note... not many people know this..... but the background music for this song is "stairway to heaven"... you have to listen carefully and maybe a few times but youll catch it. The album itself is great, totally prefect for a road trip where you can belt it out and not have to worry about grandma in her buick sitting next to you at the stoplight. I would suggest : kyle quit the band, karate song, keilbasa song, and the road song. But heres the kicker.... some jackass stole my cds out of my car about a month ago and I lost the cd....bastardo!!!!!! Listen you punk ass high school jerkoff.. i want my tenacious d, marley, 311, dmb, bare naked ladies, and rage against the machine back NOW!!! If I dont get then soon I am gonna get columbine on yhour butt!!

Also some may not know this but Dave Grohl (drummer for Nirvana, lead singer for Foo Fighters) plays drums on the D album. Quality stuff.

| Re: Tenacious D I have a rare DVD of their Comedy TV show. They had a show that was part of an old HBO Series called (HBO Comedy) Its way better then their CD's put some of the songs came frome the show. |

| Re: Tenacious D I just saw the Tenacious D HBO show on comedy central so i decided to look it up and they are going to run the entire series tuesday from 1:00-2:30PM on comedy central. check it out. it's pretty funny and most of their songs are in the series.

The first two were when they were just the two, acoustic in two smaller clubs in California...we road tripped from Boulder to L.A. and then to San Diego...Uhh. I still feel dirty from that one.. And once all electrified, after the CD came out when they opened up for Jimmy Eat World in Chicago. The first two times was raw, and a hell of a lot funnier,wanna be heavy rock songs sung by two fat guys acousticly, it was the charm, and part of the fun. The third time, although fun, and enjoyable, it was too refined. My old band used to warm up with Last week, Kilbassa Sausage, Sex Supreme, Sassquatch, and a few other of the better songs that never made the CD. Smells of shit...
