| The Holiday Season... A grade school teacher in an ethnically diverse school was inquiring of her students how each of their families spent the winter holidays. "Juan"...she asked..."What did your family do for Christmas"? "Well,...we went to church, opened presents, ate tamales and had a very nice time" he answered... She then asked a young East Indian girl what her family did to celebrate. "Oh... we ate lots of Curry and other good foods, sang Hindu songs and visited with my relatives...it was really nice".... Next she asked an Italian boy the same question. "We went to church, ate my grandma's lasagna and made a snow man..it was really fun" he answered. She then asked the little Jewish boy how his family spent their holidays. The boy replied, "Well...on Xmas morning we ate breakfast and went down to the toy store that my family owns. We looked at all the empty shelves and sang three verses of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus"....then we left for the Bahamas." |
