| Roy and Dale Roy Rogers and Dale Evans had settled for the evening and Dale had prepared their dinner. Roy, always the considerate husband, had placed his new cowboy boots outside the front door. While at the table, Roy and Dale heard a growl on the front porch. Looking out the window they both saw a mountain lion making off with Roy's boots! Roy grabbed his 30-30 rifle and told Dale, "I'm gonna get that lion." After a short while, Dale looked out the front door to see Roy carrying a dead lion on his shoulders and wearing his new boots. As soon as he was within hearing range Dale sang out, (to the tune of Chattanooga choo choo) "Pardon me Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?" |
