What's the going rate for a decent 454 these days? Just stock, nothing modified on it.

I'm going to need one for the winter project soon

Well the one I'm looking at is not freshly rebuilt, but the guy selling it says it does not smoke / knock / tick and I can hear it run and drive it before buying it.

They want $700. It's including everything I'll need as in brackets for a BB and such.

I guess I'm not in a huge hurry anyways though. The way the car is sitting, I fully do not expect to drive it until spring.

Sweet. Looks like I'll be calling the guy after work then.

Maybe there's time to get it cleaned / painted and ready to drop in before it gets too cold this year!

It sucks not having a large / heated garage to work in.

Oh, definitely I'll be barganing. Since this whole deal stemmed from craigs list, I'd be a fool not to.

Plus, the radiator and shroud are going to be too tall for use in my car anyways, so that outta be a realistic way to knock some off of the price too.

It's going into my new toy. I would prefer something out of a car that is not setup for towing already. But, if it has to come out of a truck and I need to change the cam or something, not a big deal as long as the price is right.

It did have an old doggy 350 in it that was supposedly rebuilt not too long ago. If they did rebuild it, who ever did was a total tool. It had 0 low end torque. Or for that matter, mid or high range torque either.......

Good thing I had an extra sitting around though, the 400 in the pickup started knocking a month ago and I'm just going to swap them out.
