(I'm all pissy because I got screwed over by this guy that runs a haunted house out in Des Moines that was going to pay me for the entire month to work there performing. Everything was good over the phone, but when it came down to writing, the shit knocker canceled on me. The real problem there is I couldn't take bookings for those dates while I was talking with him. Now I'm screwed.) (also the sideshow gathering is that weekend too) |

| Re: Freakers Ball 2008 It's actually the busiest part of the year for me, which is a good thing and a bad thing. Good part, I get to go on stage, and go fucking nuts. Bad part, I deal with scumbag wannabe promoters, and people like I mentioned above. Also the ones that believe that I do what i do out of some sort of bullshit artistic reason and that I should be doing this out of "supporting the local scene" just need to back the fuck off. It's a job that I love doing, but as it is a job, I need to get paid because, dammit I have bills and "the scene" isn't gonna get me any new pairs of shoes. (or cover any other bills.) If people have a problem with my price, that is fine, it's a free trade economy, they are more than welcome to shoot me a counter offer, I have done shows where I got other things in return like a nice old bottle of single malt scotch, and other hard to find liquor that I would have to special order from the EU, and I have done other high dollar paying shows that paid in cash. It all really depends on who I'm doing what for and why. Dammit, this shit stresses the hell out of me. |
