After making my previous post about where I could find Italian pastry in the Omaha area, I thought it might be interesting to see what people would list as the most "authentic" ethnic restaurants or stores where they live (since it's possible not all of us posting here are in the Omaha area, I suppose).

I can't help a whole lot since I'd only be able to offer an opinion on authenticity of a couple of restaurants - one of which is closed now. :( The Edelweiss restaurant that used to be open in Bellevue used to be pretty decent German food and it sucks they closed. It's been a long time since I've been to the Bohemian Cafe, but as I recall, the food seemed pretty close to all of the Bohunk food I had from my gramma and mom. (Now it's time to cook kolaches and a duck...heh...) I mentioned Orsi's in my other post, but I'm not Italian, so I can't verify the authenticity of their food. I've heard it is supposed to be pretty close to the real deal though. These restaurants are/were in the Omaha/Bellevue area.

Anyway, anyone else have others to add?

There's a little cafe in a tiny town called Dix at mile marker 29 on I-80. If you're ever passing through, it's worth a few minutes out of your life. Best cheeseburgers, BBQ ribs and bull fries in the panhandle.
