| Dave - Web Site Question Dave - did you write the program for the website or did you use a program like front page? The reason is I need to start working on a website for a non profit group and this site seems so easy to use I was hoping you could recommend a program. Thanks |

| Straight Pimpin ![]() | Re:Dave - Web Site Question I use Mambo CMS (open source, GPL license, free to download and distribute), its located at http://www.mamboserver.com I also use the Simpleboard component for the forum piece of the web site. I love Mambo, but I loathe Simpleboard. Other freely available CMS (news and info) type products are php-nuke, postnuke, plone, and I believe Movable Type has a similar product, but is more like a blogging application. All mentioned software use PHP and MySQL for a database. The 'best' forum software that I've used (in my opinion) is vBulletin, but it has a yearly license fee. It also doesn't have the best CMS, or portal, implementation.

| Re:Dave - Web Site Question I think all of that is way above where I need to be (or even could be). I would like to be able to have an area where someone could look up things on the website and post a comment. I just need something simple and this site is very cool but way to complexed for someone like me. Thanks for the great site!! And the information. |
