| Re: Movie reviews It's time for another useless movie review! Up for review today is, Black Snake Moan. I liked this movie. I liked it more than I thought I would, actually. It is different from anything I've seen before. If you don't already know, this movie is about a man (played by Samuel L. Jackson) who finds an unconscious nympho (played by Christina Ricci). At first he just tries to take care of her while she's sick, but once he finds out she's a nympho, he chians her to a radiator while she's asleep in an attempt to cure her of it. This movie has a surprising amount of funny lines to go along with the craziness. There isn't really anything I didn't like about this movie. It is kind of an odd movie though. I don't think it's for everyone.

| Re: Movie reviews It's time for another worthless early movie review! Up for review today is, 300. I thought this was a pretty kick ass movie. There are multiple epic fight scenes throughout the movie. It doesn't take long at all for the first battle to start. I was afraid this movie was going to be two and a half to three hours. It's actually less than two hours. This movie is very, VERY violent. There is no shortage of people getting impaled here. If you like big fight scenes, you'll most likely enjoy this movie.

| Re: Movie reviews ^Thanks for the heads up, T...I hope I can find time to watch it this weekend. Am I the only one who, as a rule, would like to see more 3+ hour movies--perhaps not to watch in a theater, but to rent/own on DVD? Maybe this is why I prefer books to their film adaptations, for instance...I'm just curious

| Re: Movie reviews I saw The Departed last night on DVD. It was okay. I think the way that the characters were casted was wierd. Matt Damon plays a bad guy and that just didn't seem to be a role that would fit him. The plot was a no brainer. However, since there were big names in the movie, Jack Nicholson, Mark Walberg (who you don't see much of), Leo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, it made the movie better than it would have been otherwise. So I give it a B for a score.

| Re: Movie reviews The Black Dahlia was the DVD of the weekend. I will tell you now, SAVE YOUR MONEY! This movie moved so slow. The plot was hard to follow probably because I kept loosing interest. Their are quite a few good actors in it but this thing was a bomb. I would be suprised if it even makes it to cable! LOL!

| Re: Movie reviews It's time for another useless movie review! Up for review today is, "TMNT" I was disappointed with this movie. I used to love the original cartoon that aired in the late 80's and early 90's. I even liked the three live action movies. I thought this movie was kinda boring. I didn't think the action scenes were all that great....Well, the last fight scene wasn't bad. On the plus side, it did have some funny moments here and there. Overall I was expecting more than this movie offered....

| Re: Movie reviews Very true, I didn't find it worth the popcorn. I only went to see it because I was a fan of the TMNT series as a youngster, which is likely a reason it earned $70M that opening weekend... I, like Tony, thought some parts were funny and entertaining--I'd consider it only a possible rental if you were really bored, and nothing more

| Re: Movie reviews Saw two movies over the weekend. First off, took my 5 year old to see Meet the Robinsons. Didn't really care for it much. The movie is increasingly bizzare untill the climax, about 3/4 of the way through the movie when they finally explain what the hell is going on. Not like it was hard to figure the storyline out but I'm afraid it was lost on my 5year old. Pretty much a kid movie, not much adult appeal to it digital animation and silly childish humor. I give it a C, and that's only because it does have a nice ending but the first HOUR of the movie I give a D. Also, got to see Blades of Glory. I was suprised with this movie. After seeing Talladega Nights wasn't expecting much outta this but it was really funny. I laughed the entire movie along with everyone else in the theatre. If you like Anchorman, I do, you'll like this. It's cheesy and ridiculous and absurd but most of all it's fun and funny and lighthearted. Ferrel is great WAY way way better than Talladega Nights role. It's almost B+.

| Re: Movie reviews I rented two movies this past weekend: Casino Royale and Man of the Year. Suffice it to say, this was a great weekend of rentals. Obviously I enjoyed the new Bond for the amazing action sequences and the humorous portion with the chair...to not spoil anything. Man of the Year starred Robin Williams, and Christopher Walken and Lewis Black...I enjoyed it for what it was, a comedy. Can't go wrong renting this or the new Bond flick, I would think...
