Hey, Y'alls!
I may be over-stepping my bounds as a newb, but I woke up and thought I had a pretty good idea for a thread.

What was the first concert you ever went to?

Very cool idea..
My first real concert was Metallica. It was around 1989.
I also went to a concert at a fair before that - Jefferson Starship, but I don't think it really counts as a concert.

Mine was also Metallica,but G-n-R,and Faith No More was with them.Saw that down in Texas Stadium.

Actually, now that I think about it... My very first concert was George Burns / Gloria Estefan at Aksarben, 1987. I must have suppressed that memory.

All bow down before the best concert event of all time.... Mr. Mister at the State fair in '86.

I saw George Jones with John Anderson ('Swingin'') at the Civic a year or two prior to that, but I don't think that counts.

Okay I'll date myself

1st - Doobie Brothers, Jay Ferguson 'Thunder Island' opened...1978!

Best - tie Pink Floyd + Genesis

Worst - REO Speedwagon

The one I didnt want to see but glad I went - Head East. A nobody opened for them, a young man by the name of John Cougar (Mellencamp). The only time I ever saw an opening act blow away the headliner.

I saw Bill Cosby and Sammy Davis Jr at a show there. It was excellent!!

First - It was Beastie Boys in 87 at Pershing.
and then every concert between then and now.

The Best: Floyd in 1994 at Arrowhead

Regular: Dave Matthews Band every year - this year I am going to see them in Alpine, Wisconsin; Sandstone in KC; and hopefully Red Rocks in Denver.

Worst: I have suppressed those memories.

If you've never been there chriss, you are in for a major treat! One of the best venues I've ever been to. (Denver Symphony) The sound and the sights are incredible.

The Offspring, mid '93 at the ranch bowl! they sucked live. i think it was the ranch bowl? it was in omaha and a small venue, yeah it was the ranch bowl

IVE SEEN LOTS OF OPENING BANDS BLOW AWAY THE HEADLINER......SAW SLASH OPEN UP FOR SAMMY HAGAR AND SLASH WAS 3 TIMES AS GOOD.........I SAW THE CARS OPEN UP FOR CHEAP TRICK ONCE IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT.........EVEN SAW AC/DC OPEN UP FOR REO SPEEDWAGON...........SORRY

Saw Pearl Jam there. All I can say is wow! and The Offspring ROCK.....well I guess thats two things :)
