Now that we've got the Qwest Center, We've been getting big names like Kiss/Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, U2 etc....etc....blah blah blah.

Why can't we get the more obscure mainstream rock bands besides all of these household name bands. System of a Down, Nine Inch Nails, Velvet Revolver have all scheduled right around Omaha. Is it because the head people who are in charge are all conservative and stingy??? It seems that the Civic Auditorium was getting better shows in the early 90's. Now what the hell happened??

What the hell was wromg with Motley Crue?They were reuiniting for this tour.I think that's something big!! B)

Pfffffffff............the Qwest Center won't book anybody where the average age of the crowd is late teens or early 20's. Or if they can't charge less than $50 for admission. By the way..........the Crue reunion is as about as genuine as the Van Halen reunion.

I don't know about the Van Halen reunion,but as for as Motley Crue goes,there is a reason every member had their own bus,there is a reason everybody separated after the concerts and didn't hang out together.Why?They do not get along.They just decided to be civil for the tour and cd,which was a helluva show.

And,they book groups by who spend and have money.Late teens just graduating don't have no money. It's only logic here.I'll use Motley Crue again as an example,the fans of the Crue are basically for the most part in the late 20's ,and 30's,who if you book them its more likely to sell out than a band that is for just teenagers. B) ;)

Basically,that's the point I'm trying to get across.Who is first to come up with ticket money?A 30 year old or a teenager? We all know what the answer is 9 out of 10 times is.Of course it's money.

Money really has nothing to do with my point. Even though the bands that have come to the Qwest Center are not worth the price they charge. Just because the non-household name acts don't probably won't charge more than 60 bucks for admission don't mean they shouldn't get booked. Look at other cities who get the shows that I'm talking about and are Qwest Center caliber arenas. Xcel center in St. Paul, Pepsi Center in Denver.

OK aminor,maybe you just are not getting it.Yes,it is money.Look how many acts have been/are booked at the Qwest and have been/are sold out? Shall we go down the list?Kenny Chesney twice,Green Day,U2,Paul McCartney.They get the names that will bring in the $$$$ not just a couple thousand fans.They are looking for 15 thousand people.

The bands I have mentioned are VERY capable of selling out the Qwest Center. That's why they are touring Qwest Center caliber arenas as we speak. They would more than likely do better than Motley Crue.

I have to throw my 2 cents in here... Hillary Duff is coming to the Qwest in August. (Who in the hell is Hillary Duff?). But my wife wants to drop $50.00 a ticket to take our girls to see her. And thats the cheap tickets! The front rows cost $175.00 apeice.... (They know that the parents have the money).

If they can get that kinda money for a Nickelodian has been. What kind of money are Green Day and McCartny getting?

Actually, Hillary Duff is coming to the MAC in Council Bluffs.

Thender - I think he is right about her going to be at the MAC in Council Bluffs. Ticketmaster still has tickets, but other online places are charging up to $300 for tickets so you may want to get your tickets soon.

Really? :blink: My bad... I'm not the one trying to get those tickets anyway. I'm just not a big concert goer. I'd rather spend $15.00 on the CD, and get drunk in my house listening to it, than have to go through a cattle drive to see the venue live....

But I do understand that they need good venues to attract us 'out-of-town-yokels' to fill the coffers of the Ol' Market. But it has got to be something REALLY special for me to drive 60 miles and go through the hassel....

Hence why I would never go see Hillary Duff in concert.. ;) A million strap on vaginas wouldn't be of a help either! :laugh:

Damn! The tickets cost that much? I just assumed that they were like $25 bucks or somewhere around there. Also Hilary is from Disney channel not Nickelodeon.(so I'm a loser...)

I see plenty of high school kids and college aged kids driving nice cars and suv's. I don't think Border's or Burger King pay THAT well. mom and dad would pony up for tickets.

;) Thats what I was trying to say last night. But I was beating around the bush trying to get there... Mom and dad usually pony up the money. Mine wouldn't ;) But alot of parents do nowadays.
