There's an ad on the TnT show that I have a couple questions about on the 'Tom Kelly's Bowl & Pro Shop' (or is that 'Bowling Pro Shop'?) spot.

The jingle sings the lyrics ~~~ Tom Kelly's Bowl & Pro Shop ~~~. But they sing something before it that I cannot make out for the life of me. They sing something really, really fast just before they sing the jingle. Does anyone know what the hell they are singing? Perhaps it's a backwards masking saying 'bowl to my sweet Satan' or something.

There's one more thing about that ad that bugs me. After the ad starts with the 'Tom Kelly's Bowl & Pro Shop' jingle, the music just seems to hang there. It seems like this should be the time for the announcer to start talking. But the music plays for like 3-5 seconds before anyone says anything! The same thing happens at the end of the ad. After the announcer says his wording, there's that same 3-5 second pause before the jingle starts again.

It almost seems like whoever wrote this commercial ran out of words to cover the length of the music.

But actually, my biggest question is what the HELL lyrics they are singing before the jingle.

Seeing that I work 2 jobs and only post here once every few months, I know I don't have a lot of free time on my hands.

In fact, isn't this group pretty much designed for people with too much time on their hands???

I'm just wondering what they are saying in that jingle. And no, it's not the name of the store. The ad starts with something sang super fast. I just wondered what it was.

I'm obviously kidding about the Satanic masking (mostly because I'm agnostic). But yes, I would appreciate any input.
I'm honestly not trying to nitpick the ad. I'm just curious as to what is being sang. Again, it's the very first thing you hear when the spot is played.

OK, since I'm the one that cuts spots for Tom Kelley, I'll go ahead and answer your questions on this one....

The lyrics that are sung at the begining and end are as follows:

'Come see the doctors at Tom Kelley's Bowling Pro Shop!'

The reason there is a pause at the begining and end is basically what TOAD speculated. The script I was given wasn't quite long enough to fill the music bed in the commercial. I don't write these things, I just read them. And there's only so slow you can read something without sounding like a Corky, ya know?

As far as the Satanic messages are concerned, what is said subliminally in the spot is....uh....wait...I'm not supposed to talk about this....nevermind....I may have already said too much......

THANK YOU! So far, everyone seems to think I'm nuts for thinking there are any other lyrics on that song other than the main chorus jingle. But this raises another question. Why do they sing that so fast that few, like myself, even notice whtat they are singing?

Well. Since the music is too long and the undecipherable lyrics are too fast, what if they sang those subliminal lyrics slower? That way, everyone could hear the words and the length might be perfect. I know you have no control over this. But maybe a suggestion for the clueless Powers That Be?

I know, but can't they maybe cut out that little 5 second musical gap in editing? Again, I don't mean to nitpick. But while we're on the subject.

Then I'll finish it. I played the commercial backwards on my wave file editor and it says:

'TnT fired me. Revenge will be mine. Signed. The Butt Plug mike.'
