Alright...now that was hilarious, even if it's being moved/deleted. (Unless I missed something on the show this morning? I didn't listen).

I am going to leave it. Even though the photo itself wasn't talked about on the show. Todd and Tyler did talk about the hurricane and the government's response or lack or it. They also talked about how the majority of the people that were told to go to the dome were very poor and didn't have a way out of the city.

The government knew that the levees couldn't handle anything more than a cat 3 hurricane. The government took in this information and instead of fixing the levees they lowered the amount of money that would be given to fix the problems. So as moderator - I say it stays unless Dave says otherwise..

I don't feel as if it was the national gov's problem. (I'm not a bush fan so dont go there) The levee's couldn't handle anything more than the cat. 3 hurricane but the nat. gov. cannot keep track of everything...the state should have fixed that years ago. The state also didn't provide ANY transportation out of the city before the hurricane hit...so how could the lower income familys leave? It's not so much how would they leave as much as where they would have gone. Many families lived together or on the same block. They simply didn't have anywhere to go. That's why they stayed.

Once again, totally agree with you here. It could have been handled/managed much better, but you know what they say about hindsight being 20/20....

AcuraChic - You don't agree that this is a national issue. Are you aware that it is the Army Corp of Engineers that are responsible for the levees and that the National Government is responsible for 80% of the cost. The other 20% is split between the state, the county, and the city. So in all reality the fault of not having the levees fixed lays in the lap of the National Government.

AcuraChic - You are a first year college student - Yes there are checks and balances. There is also executive power and special rules for disasters.

Please don't get me wrong the government at all levels failed from City to County to State to National Government. I only posted about the national government on this thread. .

M,one thing you should realize.What you said is true,BUT if the governor of the state does not ask for help or assistance,how is he to know.He cannot possibly cover every inch of the country,that is why he depends on them to tell him if they need help.B)

Cmon Mike - It was a cat 4 hurricane hitting a fish bowl with 100 year old levees that they knew wouldn't hold up. Does the President not watch the news - Does he need someone to tell him when to pee also - Some things are just facts - All LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT FAILED THE PEOPLE OF NEW ORLEANS!! When I saw the dome on the news and there were reports of water coming in and people dying that would have been enough I wouldn't have needed an invitation to help.
