| www.myspace.com/rdhdlvr ![]() | Yummy! I wanted to start a thread to review restraunts. Feel free to add your own comments about places you have tried good or bad. Just try to keep it out of the gutter(a lot to ask from this crowd I know!) Today I got try "Taste" It is located at 108th and Center in Rockbrook village. Lunch menu includes fancy smancy salads, seafood, and mexican. Prices range from 6-12 dollars. I guess the number zero is not allowed on the menu. Prices are formatted like $7.5 $9 $7 $1.5 I had the greek salad with gyro meat which was ok, I do like feta cheese. The atmosphere is kinda gay. The chairs pretty much suck. They lay a piece of fresh butcher paper over the table, I guess in some attempt to avoid wiping down the tables. I probably won't return because I do not mesh well with the sophisticated folk. A couple of weeks ago I did try the recently renovated restraunt at Sapp Bros. truck stop, I-80 and Hwy 50. That is very good. Mostly burgers and other american cusine. Prices range from 5-12 dollars. The atmosphere is a nice old timey feel. Friday nights they feature all you can eat prime rib buffet from 5-9 for $9.95 Which works out for a fatso like me, I will be back.

| one place i will not recommend is 'omaha prime' in the old market. cool atmosphere and the idea of the place is very cool, reminds me of a restaurant a family member of mine owned. obviously the prices were high, but usually you get the bang for your buck. not true here. the steaks looked great, when they bring them out uncooked. they burned the outside of the steaks to where there was a bit of char, and the inside was purple. now the people i was with all ordered fairly rare steaks, and pink to red is fine...but this was insane. i got a strip, they all got filets, none of us liked our steaks. the sides are served family style, you split with others. overall its a really nice place, just horrible steaks, and way overpriced. in my opinion they may need a new chef to have those prices. bill for 6 people....over $600 |

| One good place for lunch is Jams on 7814 Dodge St. They have great coconut chicken salad!! YUMMY!! I also like the Alpine Inn. The chicken is really good, but the interesting thing is that they feed the leftovers to raccoons on the deck. |

Szechuan Express just south of 114th & Dodge has the best Egg Foo Young in town. Louis Burger Lust on 19th and Vinton....by far the best burger in town...good breakfasts too. | "Someone sh*t on the coats!" ![]() | YES! Finally more people who share my love of the Alpine!!! Whenever I try to tell someone about the place, they look at me like I just sprouted antlers or something. I haven't been there in a long time. I really need to go again. I don't know if it's true or not, but I've been told that the upstairs of the place was a brothel in the early/mid 70s. Probably an urban legend, but still a good story. What a combination- sex & chicken grease. |

| "Someone sh*t on the coats!" ![]() | 2ox- Yep I know of the Forgot Store. Never been there though. I really need to talk the missus into going back to the Alpine. She doesn't like going there because you have to wash your clothes and shower when you get home. |
