Getting a date or woman to like you is probably the most difficult thing a man can really do. Think about it. If you need to get a job what do you need to know? How to do the trade, that's it. You don't need to be clever or cunning to nab a construction job. To achieve most goals men know that they need to do, if they can't do it then they practice or realize that it's not their goal. The problem is men don't know what women want because women don't even know what women want. Every week there's a new "10 things in a guy" article in cosmo that is the exact opposite of last weeks. Congrats to you SW hold on tight cause "cool" chicks are hard to find.

riot, i couldnt disagree more with you. I really think your trying to clump all men into your own personal feelings. I think daphne and sweetwill make points that it isnt such a struggle, as much as finding the right one. i wont assume your having problems with your woman, but perhaps you have your own personal issues in relationships. i dont think, by any means the hardest thing to do is get a girl to like you or date. thats the fun stuff. if your a confident person, and charming, it happens. if your not it may not.

i do think that if your trying to get someone to love you who doesnt, or your trying to make a dying relationship work, then alot of what you say is true. but then, why kill yourself over it. they are not traits inherant to male/female interaction. like i said, i think there are times when what you say is true, but its not sweeping. sometimes its interpersonal issues, or even just one of them, that is flawed. either way, theres my 2 cents.

-edit after a re-read, i noticed it makes it seem like im saying your not charming or whatever. i dont mean to say that, or that i am charming. just that the 'game' with girls can be fun if you are playing. its not fun to think too much when you play.

riot...there are many people in their 40's that don't have the insight you do. I would caution you however on making such broad statements when it comes to men and women.

The key to any good relationship is be yourself, play no games, and be honest. You want them to love you for who you are not what you are. There is no such thing as the "perfect person" either. So dont set your bar too high. Just find the one thats perfect for you.

That was my main point of this whole thing. many women (not a broad 100% thing) but many envision this perfect man with all the traits they could ever dream of, but reality is people aren't perfect. (Once again what I've been saying) If I went a little broad, forgive me, I was making examples. I know that some people find gems and have soulmates and such, but many, however, are just getting from day to day trying not to think of heartbreaks and crushes that will never be explored. I stand by most of my statements, not for the whole population, but many (like i've expressed throughout)

I just hope that this introduction service works. All this ranting on about "what women want" and "how bad women are about this and that" so on and so forth, isn't really the point for me. I just find it really hard to meet women. I am sure part of the reason is because I don't get out much. But bigger than that is I find it so hard to just start talking to a woman. Here is what it is like for me. Perfect example was the other night. I was sitting there at Old Chicago waiting for friends. There is a pretty girl at the bar having fun with friends. I casually glance over to size her up. I check the left hand for any rings. All is good. I think of something good to say. My breathing shallows, my brain tells me to go over and talk to her, I don't move. I think of all the reasons why not to. Then I think of all the reasons why I should. It just becomes this sick sturggle inside my head. I am sure that is my biggest downfall. I am aware of it but just cannot overcome it. Then the moment passes and I kick myself.

I mean once I get to know someone I am fine. That is why I like an intermediary(if that is the right word), like this service, or a friend to introduce me. It gives me that little bit of security to "break the ice"

I sometimes find myself in tears over my inability to do something so simple. I probably should not admit that but what the hell. I am who I am. As Coach would say, "it is what it is." I guess all I can do now is just work with this introduction service and see what it yields.

Well I met my first match last night. First of all we discovered that we live only three blocks from each other! So 3,000 dollars and 3 blocks later! HA!! I went over to her place. I was a half expecting a disapointment. HA HA! much to my surprise, this ABSOLUTLEY adorable girl anwsers the door! We took her car to a lounge and met up with some friends of her's. It was karaoke night and we had a blast! Fortunatley like me she can sing from the table but to hell if either one of had the guts to get up there. I could not drink cuz I had to drive the big truck, but I still had fun nonetheless. We are going to get together again tonight and have dinner maybe do something from there. Now let me stress to you gutter heads that this is not a booty call. I am really searching for a serious relationship. I hope that it continues to go well. I will keep you up to date. I appreciate you guys and gals helping me to keep my confidence up. You are the best.
