OH YEAH, ANOTHER ONE ON MY LIST! Jensen Tire!

They are right up there with Subway. 12 years ago I had my brakes changed there, and they call me and said they were done with the car, and by the way, the shocks/strus were really really bad, and they tried to call me (but really didn't), but they just knew I'd want them replaced.

It was like $260 just for the shocks and struts.

It took me a couple of hours arguing with them about it, but I finally got out of there with a free set of shocks and struts. No apology, no admitted wrong doing, nothing.

I will never go to any of the Jensen Tire establishments again. They are dead to me. My wife tried used to take her car there before I knew her, but it didn't take her long to see the light.

They have always been very good to me....never get charged...oil change was about $20 bucks...I picked up a nail a here and there and they never charge me....

I say we boycott every state senator who voted for LB1024, the most rasict peice of crap sinnce the jim crow laws. Refuse to suport them with signs in your yard, stickers, money, and most importantly vote their ignorant thinking arses out of office!!
Ohh and if Ernie Chambers wants a black school district that is run by blacks... how bout you pny up some money and start a freakin private school.

For obvious reasons, I have not tried to get too involved in political conversations on this site, but I have to agree with Jughead. I feel the state has sent Omaha back to pre-1954 Brown v. Board of Education status. It is frustrating as an educator to have so much of your career dictated by people who haven't seen a classroom for years.

Isn't Ernie's term about up? (didn't they pass a new term limits law?) I mean, maybe he is looking for a bit of job security for his post-legislative days as the new Omaha Public Schools North Superintendent.

I also try not to get too political on here.... sorry if that rubs anyone the wrong way. But as a teacher and a parent this needed to be said.
As for Brown v Board of Education...... i think this would send us back further than that... closer to the days of people getting lynched in hummel park!!!! I am so embarrassed by the backward thinking of the lawmakers in this state. Not suprised, just embarassed.... after all we passed a bill that totally discriminated againsts gays!!!!
And teachergirl dont worry about chambers being a superintendent..... he wouldnt take that job. He would have to "acutally do something'! And thats saying alot since everyone in administraive posistions in educations are allready overpaid and severely underworked. Plus I think you actually have to have an education to be a superintendent!!! Just a thought! And the whole criminal record thing might hurt him too!!! Tony would be a better Black superintendent than him...... the only problem is Tony acts more white than me!

the foundation for race relations in Omaha are crumbling. Lets set up turf wars by school districts.

Would a state that has two house representation allow such a thing? The reason Chambers rules the legislature is because there is no check and balance. I have never liked the one house system. It breeds ignorance, laziness and arrogance.

Trust me when I say there are already "turf wars" within the same school district. I taught for several years in a north Omaha school, and have recently moved to a school that is in extreme western Omaha. The differences in attitude toward me as a teacher are staggering. Before, I was considered "doing just enough to get by" or "you were put there for a reason". Now I have become "a snob at a rich school", or "you can do that at your school because the kids have more money". It is very hypocritical. Don't get me wrong, I love working for OPS, and I love the experiences I have had in the district. All large school systems have problems, however, rash decisions based upon frustration and plain ignorance are no way to handle the situation.

I'll get off the soap box now and talk about blow jobs and sex stuff again.

Well, great, as of 15 minutes ago, they advanced the OPS break-up plan. Guess I will be teaching in Omaha Public Schools West from now on....that will TOTALLY help the kids in the inner-cities! Go Nebraska go!

Irony, I just watched my Tivoed Oprah about the horrible state of the nations schools! LMAO, I guess I will be in the North Omaha district...and I teach west of 72nd street! Oh well, I teach for the kids not the politics.
