| The stickiest of the ickiest ![]() | The fine Nebraska police force The story of my drive to work today...............and how great I feel about the Nebraska police now (sorry if anybody here is a cop or knows one.......) Driving West bound on I-80 in my new toy that does not have any plates on it yet. It's been about 20 days or so, so I figured I would get pulled over sometime soon at least. Sure enough, today was the day. That did not make me angry, because he is just doing his job. Ten minutes later and 5 warning vilations, I am back on the road. I drive LITERALLY less than 2 miles and get off on the Gretna exit. At the first stop light, I see another cop and think to myself, wouldn't it suck if this guy pulled me over.............. I never should have thought it, because it happened. He pulled me over, and the worst part of all is, he decided it would be cute to do this whole thing directly in my parking lot at work. So not only am I getting pulled over for the same exact thing that I just did less than 2 minutes ago, I have everyone and their dog from work staring at me.......... So needless to say, I am a bit dissapointed with them right now. When they pull someone over, do they not have to call that in? And can other cops not hear that? I would figure yes to both of those questions. And if the other cop knew full well what had just happened - it makes me think he did that just to be a jackasss. Anyways enough venting from me. Does anybody the answer to those two questions above though??

| Re: The fine Nebraska police force were they both city cops? can they ticket you for the same things in that short amount of time? don't pay, go to court i'll bet the judge will get a laugh your defence: omaha should get casinos so the cops don't have to ticket for piddly crap

| The stickiest of the ickiest ![]() | Re: The fine Nebraska police force Nah, I got a warning from the first guy, nothing from the second. One was city, the other was not. But I'm over it now - I'll just go get it fixed and live with it =)

| Re: The fine Nebraska police force If you only had a warning, it wouldnt show up when he pulls your DMV records. The easiest way is to explain, then show the warning citation |

| Re: The fine Nebraska police force The mix-up is easy to understand see how they were not even on the same force. When they call things in it goes to dispatch not over the entire airwaves. Could you imagine if OPD had like 50 calls a minute coming in. The cops on patrol couldn't keep up with that. What happened to you isn't jack shit compared to what happened to my friend. He was on his way to my house. I barely live inside Bellevue, near Gross and Bryan Highs. So he gets off Kennedy on Chandler. Stops at a gas station over around 27th and a cop pulls in and gets a warning for no front plate and sent on his way. He goes 3 or 4 blocks and gets pulled over again for the same thing and expalins it all to the second and the first cop even pulls up after seeing this and explains to the second cop. Then he goes up to 36th street and gets pulled over again. My friend hands the ticket to the cop and says pulling me over for no front plate. Then just laughed and apologized to my friend. It was ridiculous but also pretty funny. |
