I was downtown this morning and there were a bunch of Kids driving around, honking and hanging out of their vehicles' windows waving Mexican flags. Anyone know what that was about?

Will this felony charge put them in our prisons or send them home? I sure as hell don't want to pay more taxes to give them 3 squares and a room for 5 years.

no...no...no..no Al...I completly disagree with you..I would think send them back...you know there are men and women who have had children in this country and they are illegal but the children are not so should the parents have to leave there children?

I gotta go with Daph on this one. Many of the "illegals" are working jobs that none of us want to work for pay that none of us would accept. That isn't right either, but look at the stupid shit this country puts up with from its citizens...and you want to send the illegals back? I don't think we should open the floodgates, but I have many great students who come here from other countries and they are some of my best most motivated students, and I would hate to think of them losing their fathers or mothers because of something like this. :::stepping off her soapbox:::

I have no problem if you are here LEGALLY, I have some great friends who are from other countries, I have no problem with that, what I have a problem with is swimming across the river then I pay for your medical expenses and everything else, plus they do not pay taxes.

Should the children be considered felons? no but they can go back to Mexico with their parents.

As far as jobs, we have created our own evil, we have the people to fill the jobs we have just made ourselves out to be to good. We would rather go on welfare and keep having kids and collect more welfare so they do not have to go get a job. I will work two jobs at McDonalds and Burger King or scooping shit before I go on welfare. The problem is we have created a lazy to high of standard society

When it comes down to it, those of us of any descent other than Native American could be considered illegal aliens. It's just that the statute of limitations is long since past. This entire hemisphere belonged to the ancestors of the Mexicans, Guatemalans, Hondurans, etc... long before our ancestors came over here & stole it out from under them. I'm sure Medicine Hat would back me up. The thing I get really sick of is the whole "If you can't speak the language then get the hell out' rhetoric. How many of us can speak Algonquin, Iriqois, Mohican, Lakota, etc...

If people want to come here & work, good for them. If they're contributing to the community thru said work, then so much the better. I've seen plenty of white people who don't contribute jack shit and bitch about the "illegals" who do.

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH......this is one tired argument.

I don't have a problem with anyone here legally, as I said. Create 3 year work Visas for those who want to do those jobs so they can pay taxes, medical, etc. Let all of them apply for citizen ship to the US. I don't have a problem accepting all of them if they contribute.

how can they have kids here legally if they are illegal? If they were not supposed to be here, the birth can not immediately grant them citizen ship. Or at least it shouldn't. If the parents have to go, so do any kids under 18.

Again, I think that EVERYONE in the US should have some form of legal ID. I am fine with work Visas, applying for citizen ship, etc. The key to this whole thing is ILLEGAL. If they are supposed to be here, ship them home. Send their country a bill for their transportation.

As for all of us being illegal - anyone who has a recognized US ID and is paying taxes is not illegal. I understand what happened 100-1000 years ago. But under the current system, we should all be fine.

One other thing - make them learn English at least at a 2nd language. The recognized language in this country is English. When I go out of the country, they don't all try to talk English to me. Either I learn their language or I order spaghetti and get sheep balls.

PS - The felonies should be for the companies who give the jobs to Illegal people!

I can agree to disagree with people on subjects. If everyone agreed, there would be no message boards. I respect people who speak their mind even if we disagree. At least they have an opinion and are not scared to share it.

However, I do not feel I am wrong. There has to be some rules for everyone. It has to work as a system.

If you are here illegally and get pregnant....wouldnt the hospital find out your illegal and call someone or report it...?????

Dont you have to have ID....insurance cards?....how do they pay for it?.....

...legal or not, if a person makes a purchace then they pay sales tax on said item
an illegal person who files papers to avoid such taxes (welfare) will be found out fairly quickly
an illegal person is less likely to use services provided by our tax system because they don't want to be found out
the argument around taxes is moot as far as i'm concerned

If your chidren are legal then you have a set time frame to become legal yourself. If you can't reach that goal then I'm sorry but you need to leave.

Most employers pay illegals cash, maybe less than the minimum wage, so they don't claim taxes. Many of them give fake ID's so they can use services. Be here legally or get out.

Many of the guys that crashed the plans into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon NOT here legally and we had no way to know what was going on until it happened.

Its usually the guys who complain the most about illegals that are the first to complain when beef prices jump becasue we cant find any lazy gringos to work for $7 an hour doing a shitty job working in a packing house! And they are the first to complain when their lawn service isnt doing their job. OOHHHHH but come Friday night when they go out to eat.... damn those beaners and wettbacks can make a damn good margarita and tequilla.

How are they contributing to the community by taking a tax free paycheck?! Then what they hell do most of them do with it?! Buy a big truck, throw some rims on it most cannot afford. Then invite their 50 family members to live in their house (which of course is illegal).

Let's see: They're contributing by doing jobs you wouldn't lower yourself to do. By saying they buy big trucks w/rims & bringing in 50 other family members, you're assuming that everyone of Latino extraction is here illegaly. That's like saying every white person is a racist. How many people do you actually know who've done either of those things? Do you actually know anyone who's here illegally? How many legal people in this country are on welfare & spitting out kids simply because they can? How is that any different? I have more respect for the people who'll take any job they can find than for those who won't take any job.
