Hollywood apparently thinks we are ready for docudramas related to 9/11. I don't know about you but the anger I have is still very close to the surface. How many times has the image of the second plane slamming into the second tower run through your mind over the last five years. The horrific images of human beings choosing to jump to their death instead of burning alive.

Have we become so desensitized by the media that we are ready to take a very personal look at the tragedy of 9/11. I'm not, I'm still pissed off. There has been no closure. Osama Bin Dickhead is still alive and well. When he's finally been eliminated then maybe I'll be ready.

Would like to know what y'all think.

In a way I agree with you.We all know how it ended up,and technically the story is not over yet,because the ass is still out there. I do not see the need for a movie about it.Just somebody looking for a quick buck,if you ask me.

Personally I'm ready. I think most of America is too. I'm interested in all the facts and fictitions they've scraped together to actually make a movie out of. Of course they'll throw in real footage, but we all know when that's going to happen. Everything up to that point is mainly going to be Hollywood's idea of what happened. Granted they'll have certain facts and phone calls which will be heard, but it's still a movie.
Anyway, I might check it out when the DVD rolls out, but I can't wait to hear all the buzz it's going to make when it hits the big screens.

They could release that 2 (or 3?) hour documentary by the reporters that were doing interviews at the fire house as a movie.

I'm surprised Michael Moore hasn't come out with anything for the 5 year anniversary.

i tend to agree with ox on this. it still pisses me off. we all know how it ends and it's not good. the conspiracy crap is out there and mike is right this will just add fule to the fire.

I agree guys...this isn't the normal "plane-crash-turned-Monday-night-movie" sort of deal. The whole situation was unique in so many ways, that it can't be handled in the "normal" commercial manner.

What I want to know is how they will market these films without offending people, yet still get them to pack the theaters. The idea of going to see X-Men 3 in May and sitting through a 2 minute trailer of "World Trade Center" pretty much disgusts me.

I can stand it unless they make it into a love story/triangle with Ben Afflect and Jude Law! maybe have Jamie fox be a cook in the trae center who saves peoples lives despite being a peon! (PEARL HARBOR)

You know I love Ben Affleck, but I would not go see a 9/11 movie even if he was the biggest baddest hero of all. I can't even watch the old footage without crying like a little girl with a skinned knee, so I don't think I am ready for a movie! I am too pissed off about it, and it is too raw.

I have watched most of the stuff already out on the History channel and Biography, etc. Although it pisses me off, I am fascinated by the whole story of these people who went to work their just like every other morning. It makes me stop and think how lucky I am and it brings back memories of that day....what I was doing, when I first heard, what TNT were saying, all that.

I believe it is too soon for any kind of a movie. I guess if all the profits are donated to those families who lost someone in 9/11 or to some kind of charity regarding it. I would think everyone in the theatre would be crying their eyes out.

They didn't make the Titanic movie a few years after it happened, so why so quick now with this???????????????

I agree, even with Pearl Harbor being the first attack on American soil, they waited around 20 years to make a movie. It is too soon to make one on 9/11

I agree, we don't need to see this. All it's gonna do is open wounds. We, as a country need time to heal before this comes out. How would it have been received if they came out with the movie on Pearl Harbor or D-Day or the Titanic (I think that would have been a silent movie though) 5 years after they happened. I don't think it would have gone over very well. I just think its too soon.

I hope it doesn't do well at the box office. If one wanted to donate their money to a 9/11 fund, just do it directly, not pay $8 (of which only a percentage, likely, will be donated) to watch a big downer/bummer movie...

I actually saw the trailer for United 93 this weekend in Vegas. I have no plans to see this movie. I think it's disgusting that the movie industry has made such a movie. I think it's to soon after 9/11 and that people who lost someone on United 93 or lost someone related to 9/11 in general should be outragged by the movie industry making this into a hollywood movie. I have no problems with shows regarding 9/11 on the history channel or any news shows. I think that the movie industry should have given this more time. I think the country is still healing from 9/11 and will be for some time.
