 | Re: One City...you know the rest mike i agree. i'm sure there are SOME crappy teachers out there just like any profession. but it comes down to how hard the parents are willing to work with their kids. i'm tired of people blaming the schools for crap that the parents are responsible for.

I mean I am a teacher and a parent and I don't hold my daughter's teacher accountable for my daughter's problems in school. The parents, teachers, administrators and community need to work together to solve the education problem, and that isn't happening. As a matter of fact it seems just the opposite is happening. Makes me wanna go live on a mountain in a cabin and not have contact with the outside world.

| Re: One City...you know the rest Mike you hit it right on the nose! It's all about the parents. I went to millard schools myself, and my parents werent the type to check my homework, or get extra help for me if I was struggling in certain areas. It just wasnt important to them, I ended up dropping out. Now my children go to millard schools, they even have some of the same teachers as I did! But I go over their homework with them every night, keep in contact with their teachers by phone, even e-mail. My children are A, B students, and it's because of you teachers doing your jobs. But I believe when that school bell rings, they did their job for the day(pat on back to all of you) But when our children walk through the front door it's our job as parents to take over from there. |

I meant that the media and alot of people blame the fact that schools and students in north O arent performing well, on the teachers and school. Not the case...... their are alot of great teachers that wi worked with and know up in north and south O., and I consider myself a good teacher so theirs another. The fact is we can only do soooo much when kids come to school with terrible upbringing and parents that dont do anything! You can teach my anytime lynnie!! Keep me after school tonight!

I drink too much coffee...I smoke on my lunch breaks...I make sexual comments on here...I drink booze and flirt with random men...and don't even get me started on masturbation. Basically, I am the epitome of everything wrong with OPS. Sorry everyone...it is all my fault.
