I was driving south on highway 50 outside of Syracuse (that is about 50 miles south of Omaha for you non country folk) and a deer ran RIGHT INTO my drivers side door!

I have not even had that car for 2 months yet! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........

Man - I hope this luck turns around sometime.

As far as the deer, it was dead and I'm sure the meat was wasted.

Anybody recommend a good body shop around this joint? Insurance is paying for it, so the more expensive the better I suppose =)

Just got it into the body shop today.

Estimate for fixing the damage is a little over 1800 bucks. Good thing insurance is footing the bill for this one!!!!

Whoa .

Came close a few times but never hit a deer. I can only imagine.
Back in 04, I was on this 2 lane highway in Colorado Spgs (24) heading up to Woodland Park when all of a sudden a deer came outta nowhere...lots of switch back turns on this highway so I was only traveling at 30mph (the posted speed limit..ha ha ) ..had enough time to re-act . Probably would've done the ole Taurus some good ...plenty of whiskey dents on that car (lol!)

I was once heading on Highway 136 in Missouri and had a deer jump right out in front of me. I swerved left and clipped it with my right bumper and it took out part of the grill, and a tail light. I knew guys that have had the deer total their car because of a hit head on too.
Be thankful the deer didn't get hit and fly up into and thru your windshield.

Saw a truck hit a deer once..... Very odd..... The truck swerved right and hit the deer about mid section of the truck... Only one of the deers antlers got caught in the side molding... This flipped the deer into the air and the damn deer landed in the back of the pickup! All happened right in front of me while I was white knuckling the steering wheel and standing on the brake pedal....

It's good to live in the country.
