I have an Idea From the Berkshire Hathaway stockholder's Meeting

Ok, so all the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders have come into Omaha, and they're getting discounts at NFM, dining at Gorat's....

This got me to thinking this afternoon. Todd and Tyler should have a "Friends of Todd and Tyler meeting". You could get savings at Dr Johns, and get a dinner special at one of their favorite resturants, say Hooters or something.
I'm sure with a little planning, it could be quite interesting.
You sure don't hear about other stations paying the way for thier fans to go to Vegas, or an NFL weekend.

What to you all think?

Re: I have an Idea From the Berkshire Hathaway stockholder's Meeting

On a somewhat related topic (sorta, I guess)...

Selling beer tonight at the Upstream downtown, we (both Lynniebits and myself) were OVER-RUN with Buffett Wanabees. Honestly, I thought I would have a really great night...I mean, get a bunch of rich folks out drinking, and you're going to clean-up, right?

Nothing against the wealthy (sorry if anyone on here is), but they are crappy tippers! Lynne and I both ran our tushies off tonight, and really, when all was said and done, the Berkshire folks actually ruined our tips, because they took over the bar area, and it was nearly impossible to get to the tables of local folks.

Okay, I'm done with my rant. I know they are wonderful for Omaha's economy and all that, but I was just a tad frustrated by their lack of, shall we say, supporting the local teacher-extra-job economy.

So...we can get a discount at Dr. John's? That would SO ROCK!!

Re: I have an Idea From the Berkshire Hathaway stockholder's Meeting

the original Brkshire stock was offered at $100/share. My grandfather was offered shares and turned them down.........what a duh!

Two years ago Buffett bought a rather large quantity of gold shares. It went for about $385/ounce. Today gold is over $650/ounce, a 25 year high. Hes not called the Oracle of Omaha for nothing.

Re: I have an Idea From the Berkshire Hathaway stockholder's Meeting

I liked the idea of a TnT fan appreciation night where you come to a TnT event then like a coupon book full of special discounts just for TnT listeners.
However this thread eventually turned into The Berkshire Hathaway cheapskate thread, which doesn't belong in the TnT thread..

I did repost his original post under the TnT thread..

Re: I have an Idea From the Berkshire Hathaway stockholder's Meeting

hey man, that's why I'm not street performing this weekend, fuck those cheap fucks.

And yes whith the wannabe millionares, they don't tip. I go to Nico every now and then, and think nothing of tipping well, when I don't make much money and I wind up getting comped every now and then, then some asshole that thinks that he is hot shit only tips a buck if that and complains on why they are annoyed with him and his overly floofy martini.

I don't think we hold enough clout to get a discount night anywhere. Maybe like Burger King or something...we might get a gift certificate.

Maybe, maybe not.

All I know is, if you act super cool, tip well, you can get away with a lot.

And then again you guys are more then welcome to hang out at the Rox on sundays for the goth night, no cover, cheap drinks, which means more for tipping! (sorry about the shameless plug and all, but we need the people and you will most definatly be welcome here)

Warren Buffet didn't get rich by spending his money, he lives in the same house he did (how old is he?) like 2 billion years ago, never moved into a bigger, better, nicer house. Why would he, his successors, or any of them give you anything to better your life??
Sorry you had to work your butts off for them, that really sucks, esp. when it's so not worth it!! We ALWAYS tip above average & we aren't anywhere near Berkshire Hathaway stockholders! We will come down there sometime & tip you. I've never been in the Upstream, but have tasted the food at the BIG O SHOW--very good. AND I still have some free ale chips........there ya go, the more free beer I drink, the bigger your tip will be!

Re: I have an Idea From the Berkshire Hathaway stockholder's Meeting

I'm sorry guys...didn't mean to complain about the tips (I really did have a good night! Lynne did too!)

Still, it is frustrating to know that the suits that some of those guys were wearing could pay-off my college loans. Eh...maybe I should find a sugah daddy and be done with it!

And, anyone at TnTU is more than welcome to stop by and harrass Lynniebits or myself...just wear a nametag, so we know who you are.
