There are alot of good points being made on the status of illegal immigrants with the postings above. I have no problem with people from other countries coming to America to get a better life, not only from themselves but for their families, but they need to go through the process of acquiring U.S. citizenship if they plan to stay. If someone is here illegally, whether from Mexico or another country, they should be deported until they have taken the proper steps to be able to work and live in our great country. And with illegal immigrants there's also children to think about. This is a hot button topic that will take years to fix and finalize a solution.

this kids rampage is about mental illness and how its treated in this country. Its not about gun control or the right to buy one.

Because of the culture surrounding mental illness in this country and the take a pill mentality to fix it he was unable to be treated properly.

One of his professors knew this kid had issues and tried to steer him in the right direction for treatment but couldn't take it any further because of "legal" ramifications.

until mental illness is accepted and treated on the same level as cancer, AIDS and soforth these tramatic events will continue.

if you feel the need to cast blame at someone for this, blame the insurance industry and the lawyers. The insurance industry for not recognizing mental illness as a real desease. They do but know it will bankrupt them. And lawyers for making it nearly impossible for someone to commit another person for mental illness. Even psychiatrists are unable to do it unless the person is a threat to ones self or others. The only sure way to get help is to commit yourself.

Now what person in their right mind would do that?

As someone who has worked in all sorts of construction most of there life , i would like to explain what it is the Mexicans actually do ! They take the jobs of people that make say between $10 and $15 an hour and they do it for between minimum wage and $10...... So the individual who has worked somewhere for a good amount of time and has been moving up the payscale as should happen for most good workers..... Gets dumped, especially, at yearly review time and especially if they make a fuss about not getting a raise. And can you guess what they get told I can get people to do your job for half of what i pay you!!!!
And i don't want to hear the crap about how hard they work and what a good job they do ! At my job now and the 2 before I've had bosses tell me they know there quality is crappy but for what they pay them you cant beat it!!! They can afford to have them fix and redo things 2 or 3 times and its still cheaper !!!It's BULLSHIT!!!
