When I bought a daily lottery ticket it cost me th527 and change. When I won that daily lottery it says the jackpot was 12,078.00 but I only got 10,870.00. What happened to the other 1,208 throcks? If the answer is tax, how come I have to pay tax to buy the ticket and then also pay tax on the jackpot? That's double taxation.

That's America..... Contact the IRS.... I'm sure they will be more than willing to help you out!....

I don't think the IRS will help me, I don't have enough money for them. They only help rich people.

You're probably right, I'll change it soon so that ONLY the winnings will be taxed, just like the easy to win Powerball jackpot. Sorry about that, must have had my head up my ass.

That's fixed, I'll fix the FAQ on that too. The winning lottery jackpot gets a 10% tax, there shouldn't be any item tax on a lottery ticket purchase.
