I have wondered this as well i can see them walk up there and use it but i sure hope they are not driving up

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that they're all the same machine just in different housings. Whoever orders it determines if it goes in a mall or a drive up.

Americans With Disabilities Act is why. Public businesses are required by law to provide open and easy access to a person regardless of the disability.

My bank only has a drive up ATM. I can walk there from my house. I often do feel weird standing behind a Dodge Ram pick-up waiting my turn!

So now I have a question. Why do some ATM's have places where you can plug in a headset?

The brail are bumps for your personal pleasure. I often go and just feel the buttons for 45mins.
