 | Concealed guns! So how many of you are going to apply for a concealed gun? I just checked out the omaha.com site where they are taking a poll of how many people plan to get a permit for a handgun. almost 700 have said yes they will. Now thats a bit scary if you ask me. How many of these people could have short fuses or maybe they've been drinking a bit much and decide to pull it out. I know there are intelligent gun savvy people out there, but out of the bunch there has to be one lose nut. |

| Re: Concealed guns! I've been a gun nut for years and have always advocated the safe use of discharging a weopon in any circumstance. The "nuts" that people are afraid of putting in for a concealed carry permit are already carrying... Or they have been carrying their gun on the outside, for all to see. People like ob1 are usually the same all over the US. They know their limitations and choose, corectly, to not carry. Just look at all the other states and cities in the US that have the law and you will see that the "cowboy mentality" has never surfaced... Most people that are concealed carry permit holders are experts in the use of a weapon in a life and death situation and have a very level head about them... The ones that want to be "Dirty Harry" are pretty well weeded out in the application process and never get to step two... If they do somehow get into a situation, that they fucked up, then they are dealt with fast... As a pro-gun advocate, I can't for the life of me, figure out why anybody, from Omaha, would want to put themselves in any situation requiring the use of deadly force... Especialy after seeing the way Omaha treats it's police officers for discharging a weapon in the line of duty.... You may now continue with what you were doing....

|  Re: Concealed guns! Im lucky to live in a county that allows its citizens to carry if they have a permit. I had to take a class, they of course run a criminal history, and the sheriff has to approve of you getting the permit. i think it is good Omaha is going to get the law passed. Like others on here have said...the sh*t bags that will abuse the right to carry, already do it illegally and they most likely wont pass a criminal history check. |

| Re: Concealed guns! I'm just wondering as well on how many think that just because the law passed they can lock and load and go anywhere without a permit. My wife freaks out about guns, I have no problem with them, just a problem with the wack job that's willing to draw over a parking space or some road rage incident. (Omaha is rather psycho while toting the whole "heartland values" thing.) |
