Target woes...

Okay, I'm a bit of a consumer whore when it comes to Target. Anyway, I was pretty excited about the new one opening up at Crossroads, thinking, "hey, cool...I can get my Target fix AND do my grocery shopping". However, I was bummed to find-out that it was just a plain old Target, just like the one that was previously on Saddle Creek.

So, here's my "grrr" of the day. If they weren't going to do anything more than just build a regular old Target store, why did they get rid of the Saddle Creek store? There is nothing west of 72nd Street now, except for a K-Mart way down on L Street. I know that compared to the rest of Omaha, everyone living east of 72nd are just a bunch of "gangbangers", but even a bunch of "drugged-up criminals" need to get a cutsey card sometimes.

Re: Target woes...

My poor shopaholic friend! Although I do agree, if it is only a regular Target...what's the point? I mean other than there is nothing of note at the Crossroads except Sears. So now they have Sears and Target. I loved the Target on Saddle Creek, and I am sorry to see it go.

Re: Target woes...

And wallgreens is in cahoots! It's all about the taxes... When you finally start to see any of them quit building, that will mean they are on the down hill slide and another big name store will start growing...

Re: Target woes...

You think living East of 72 is bad... try living east of 30th. The only stores down here seem to not know how to deal with cash or checks anymore, but man they know exactly what an EBT card is. I say put in some store that sells more then half moldy food down in the hood. At least put in a store that sells clothes, cause all we have now are the 3/$10 tshirts they sell at walgreens.

I love those shirts sadly enough. Some even have cute sayings. ;) Oh and the track pants are the bomb as well.

Yes, I'm part of the Walgreen's cult. My bad. *hangs head*

Oh, I might be a fangirl of yours then. I'm literally in the one on 90th & Blondo every day. Heh, it's bad when the staff knows who you are.

Re: Target woes...

Yeah, am also a Walgreen cultist. Have one right across the street, and am there pretty regularly. But it is great when you run out of chocolate milk, and your pregnant sister just have to have chocolate milk at 1:00am.

I so hear you! I am only a couple of blocks west of 30th...although, you have to admit, the guys who sell the lawn ornaments on Saddle Creek are pretty dang groovy.
