 | Car Question So, I've been trying to survive without A/C in my car this summer, and I think I am finally starting to lose it. Anybody know where I can get some Freon for like, um, nothing? I have about 10 beers in the fridge. I can trade you. They are cold. Unlike my car. Throcks? I can pay you in throcks!!

| Re: Car Question I have a 2002 Neon (I know, I know...no one will even steal it in my hood) Anyway, as for what kind of Freon it takes...um...no frickin' clue (and thanks for the suggestion Ox, but Mike couldn't get his mouth around it.)

| Re: Car Question It takes R134A. Retail is about $11.00 t0 $13.00 per can of 12oz's. Your car would take any where from 1 to 3 cans to fill. Labor should be 1 hour to fill AC. Now if it has a big leak then it will cost more to repair the leak obviously... And on a sidenote, Most Neon's have had problems with their Expansion Valves. The expansion valve is what turns the liquid freon into gaseous form and the does the actual cooling. This could be your problem and in that case it will take the valve plus labor to put it on plus the freon....
