My wife's birthday is August 10th.

She has told me specifically to not buy her anything but I am going to anyways.

She likes hick type of stuff (horses and beer and ......well that pretty much explains hicks

)

And she also likes the type of things any other 24 year old female would like (clothes and crap)

I am having a mental block and need to come up with something soon in case I need to order something!

Gift cards are cool and easy from the guys perspective but putting thought into a gift will go a lot farther if you know what I mean.

*blinks* A gift card? Well that's nice for a friend, it's not for someone you love. Should try to make it mean something you know? Heck, maybe get her some nice bluebird roses (or her fav flower), a new bracelet/necklace/whatever and take her to dinner. If she likes horses, maybe get her a painting? Anything but a giftcard.

diamonds always work well. if you know what you are doing you can get good ones for a reasonable price.

I never said there wouldn't be a discussion later on in the evening. He just wanted an easy idea, and I gave him one.

Exactly my thoughts on the whole gift card idea...........good for some but she would kill me.

She already has more jewelry than she knows what to do with......and she doesn't really dig the whole painting scene.

But keep the ideas coming!

My wife likes horses also. Her uncle got her a subscription to Western Horsemen last year for Christmas. She loves it.

Get her something that says that you thought just about her. For example I collect angels, and once my mother bought me an angel that was named Emma, cuz that is my daughter's name. It is special then for two reasons.
Or your could get her a waffle Iron! =)

What about horseback riding and a picnic if the weather isnt to hot. Sometimes simple things can end up being the ones you love the most because there was some thought behind it.

You have to get her something that she wouldn't do for her self - most women put others first. Like a massage or a package at the day spa.

But you are right even if she says that you don't have to get her anything that is woman code for YOU BETTER or no sex for awhile.
