As an incentive, any TnTU member trying out the Zoints social networking feature will receive 3000 Throcks just for signing up, trying it out, and letting me know if they have any questions or issues with the service. Please PM me if you sign up for Zoints if you don't receive them within a day.

Fans and users of myspace will like this, but I'd like to point out that this is experimental, and COMPLETELY optional to all TnTU users.

I'm going to incorporate the Zoints social networking system into this site. Its almost identical to myspace, but has a few better features.

1) It focuses on user communities like this one, rather than individuals.
2) Its easier to configure and navigate than myspace, in my opinion.

If you're interested in this type of thing, here is what you can expect
1) Once installed, you should see an option to create a zoints profile in your User Control Panel on this site (UserCP)
2) If you choose to create a zoints profile, your your TnTU profile will either be replaced with your zoints profile, or a link to your zoints profile will be included on your TnTU profile. I haven't figured out how we should do that yet.
3) Once you have your zoints profile set up, you can join and participate in other communities like TnTU that have similar interests to your own.
This is a sample of my VERY LAME zoints page, I just created it to see what kind of options it gives you.

You may have the following questions about zoints...
Q. Are throcks and zoints related?
A. No, they have no relation at all.

Q. Are you selling our user information to zoints?
A. No, Zoints is a separate site with its own membership, you need to sign up there to match your TnTU membership with Zoints. Zoints has no access to TnTU membership other than a link from your TnTU userid to your Zoints userid, if you choose to have one.

Q. Are you forcing people to use zoints?
A. No, I may not even use it, some people get into the shole social networking scene, and may enjoy it.

Q. Why are you doing this?
A. The main reason I'm doing this is to broaden TnTU's exposure, and I think zoints will do that by making it available to other groups with similar interests. It also allows this site to have social networking features without hacking a lot of code and supporting it, and its completely optional to users. There is a little monetary income that may come in from text ads placed on profiles.

Q. What's this gonna cost me?
A. Nothing, there are textual ads on profile pages that help fund zoints and support this site.

Q. Can anybody sign up for zoints?
A. Yes, I'll provide a direct link here when that's available to users. Any and all members of TnTU are welcome to use zoints.

Q. When are you doing this?
A. Sometime this week probably. You may not notice any changes, except for an occasional link to a zoints profile here or there.

Q. What can I do with Zoints?
A. Take the Zoints Tour to learn everything you can do with zoints: Tour :: prospective members but basically you can host pictures, blogs, videos, chat, etc. and much more.

Again, this is completely experimental at the moment. I may disable the zoints feature based on membership opinions and experiences.
