| who says xmas spirt is dead in Omaha OMAHA, Neb. -- An Omaha senior bowling league got a surprise gift on Monday when a man stopped at Maplewood Lanes to use a pay phone. The "55 and Alive" bowling league was playing. The man paid the entire league's $400 in bowling fees before he left. He didn't leave his name. "He says, 'My mother is dying of cancer and I would like to do something because I can't be with my mom right now, so please take this money and pay for their bowling,'" said Maplewood's Cindy Shockley. "They thought it was absolutely great," said league President Dave Berlowitz. "A lot of seniors are on limited incomes and this is their one outing for the week, and just before Christmas -- it's just fantastic." The man also left $50 as a tip for the employees.
