Yesterday, I was sitting at the computer and all of a sudden a message pops up . . . .

Hey you, Hello from the newest employee . . . . thanxs Tara . . . . . I sat there and later replied . . .OK, Do I know you. I had an appointment with a client and then went back to the office . . . . Type back to her . . . . Are you the Tara from ? ? ? ? (the bar I used to work at) . . . . . She typed back Surprise. We chated back and forth. Was up front and told her that I was remarried . . . she's like thats cool. Today, she IM'd me and asked me to meet her outside for a smoke . . . I did . . she went down memory lane . . . and fond memories they were. Now, she wants to meet after work for a drink. I already told Mama about her, but this memory lane shit.

So, how do I handle this one. I work with her, and she will see me everyday . . . .

Here's what I'd do.

I'd just tell her that it was nice going down memory lane. However, since both of you work at the same company you'd like to keep it strictly business and don't feel right to be going out for drinks after work. I'd also stress that what ever is in the past is in the past and that you have moved on and are very happy with your current situation.

I had a talk with her and told her that, the past is just that, the past, who would have ever thought that we would ever work for the same company. She seemed cool with that. I just hope the respect is the same. Got to get going . . . it's Kareoke night . . .with Mama
