I think you and I are of the minority opinion here. I totally agree with you 100%. I can easily say that I've never ever been a fan of Jeremy's. I was totally bummed when Donnie left. And to see Jeremy replace him was awful. He also seemed like a quick replacement since Donnie's departure was so sudden.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. His laugh sounds like a donkey in heat. It sounds like the hillbilly laugh in that old song "Mule Skinner Blues" . His voice and laugh sound like their from two totally different people entirely. I sure won't miss it.

Many people on this thread are asking why he's leaving since "qualifications" is an issue (is that bad grammar?). I think it might be that the pressure and demands of the Empire are far more than that of the local show. When the Empire took over, Jeremy had to screen callers from not just Omaha, but Wichata, Springfield, and the surrounding towns in Kansas and Missouri. Plus, as you said, get more high profile guests. Because, you'll notice that some days, they'll talk to SEVERAL celebrities in one show. Where before, it was only occasional.

Very true. If my reasoning is the correct reason he's leaving, they could have surely hired him an assistant. But if Journal is a bunch of tight-wads, then they'd probably only want one producer who can seriously multitask.

Next? You sound as if Jeremy is the first element to go since the Empire took over. A couple months ago, I posted a list of all the things that they lost with the conversion to the Empire. The loss of Big Voice Guy (the new Voice Guy still SUCKS!). The loss of the Friday Round Table. Plus, since they can only do local discussion at 10:AM, they have to seriously cram Funny Bone PR and local lame musicians into 30 minutes.

The week before the Empire conversion, Tyler said that nothing would change. Bullshit! He didn't even mention Big Voice Guy being replaced. Then, he seemed surprised when he got deluged with e-mails asking where Voice Guy was on the first day. Didn't think the listeners would notice, Mike?

The thing is, these changes are just going to continue. This especially happens when corporate decisions take over. And that's exactly what the Empire is. I know TnT aren't Suits, but they do have to conform to some corporate guidelines in order to have a syndicated show. Catch 22.

Even though I'm not a fan of Jeremy's, I'm very sorry this had to happen to him. I know he enjoyed being a part of the show. But his experience is still only on a local scale. As the Empire grows, I think Todd & Tyler themselves are going to realize how inexperienced they are on a national scale as well. When you look at national radio hosts, they are only one person. You rarely get 2 hosts. And you certainly don't get a whole crew. One day, the Powers That Be might force TnT to drop Black Tony, Craig, and/or Travis. I hope I'm wrong though (except I wouldn't mind seeing Trav fired).

I just wonder who his replacement might be. Hopefully they will use better judgement with the new producer than they did with the new Voice Guy. That guy is as annoying as Jeremy's laugh.

If you read my recent comments, you'll find that I did not bash Jeremy's abilities. Only a few of his personality quirks bugged me. I know he did a good job as producer. And I do realize the many things he had to do. Screening calls, preparing podcasts, coordinating call-in celebrities, greeting in-studio guests, chiming in on conversations, and filling TnT's coffee cups are only a scant few of the responsibilities I'm guessing he had to perform on a regular basis. I was just saying that the demands of a national producer far outweigh those of a local producer. Perhaps Jeremy didn't think he could handle the new demands of a national show. Or perhaps the Powers That Be didn't think he could. We may never know cause TnT never tell us things like that. Just like they did when BW got fired. It's all hush-hush. Don't tell the listeners. Keep them guessing. Only we're in the know.

<sigh> Again, if you actually read my post, I wasn't bashing his abilities. And I would SUCK as a producer. But at least I wouldn't have the annoying "Hee Haw" laugh. I do not envy the next producer. I'm guessing TnT can be real assholes to work with at times.

Unlike most people, I can knock things I like. Nothing is perfect. Everything has flaws. I actually acknowledge that. Whereas, most people see their favorite things (actors, singers, movies, shows, etc.) as sacred cows that can do no wrong. There are a couple of radio personalities that bash what they love as well. Ever heard of Todd & Tyler?

SR - If you would have read the whole thread you would have noticed that was in reference to where two members were off topic.. We have allowed different views here - but we have always stated that this is a FAN site - for people that like the show. If a member starts making personal attacks then yes - it is taken care of. Also the TnT Show Threads need to stay on topic - which is why I started this thread..

I know of lots of personality quirks of people - even some on the site - but I don't think bitching about them when a person is down is the best thing to do. I hope that you never find yourself in a situation where you need support and all find are people who criticize you for your personally traits - something that you can't really change and if you could just to please one person who bitches - why would you?

SR-I generally enjoy reading your comments; you listen to the show as a critical listener would, and that is fine. Some just listen for entertainment, and you will always struggle to make them think or care about the show as critically as you do.

You and I agreed on several things...I, like you, was upset when Donnie left the show. I, like you, was unsure of Jeremy, believing he had big shoes to fill as producer/on-air talent. As I listened, I grew to enjoy hearing Jeremy chime...I suppose this might be where we don't agree. I, like you, miss the Friday round table and hope TnT might try to bring it back, although I can understand why they are timid.


It is not "kiss ass or leave"...Please don't be too upset with MMM and Dave; the thread you were posting to had morphed from a "WTF? Jeremy's fired?" to, as it says in the title, "Jeremy Tribute" where people could gather and post comments about how they enjoyed listening to Jeremy. Do you see why some might get upset with your comments? You posted in a thread that was clearly pro-Jeremy...granted, you still might have ruffled feathers had you posted somewhere else on the site. But when haven't your critical comments upset someone?

Perhaps some will disagree, but I say feel free to keep posting...just try to keep in mind how others might read it.

If you are refering to the posts between Uranus and me then I would would have to disagree with you. His post and mine were both on topic and whatever dialogue exchanged was relatively tame. Although I understand your position and intentions I believe your response was unwarranted. I am aware of forum rules and believe both our posts fell within them. I can assure you, I would not intentionaly violate any of this forums rules as i respect everyone here. I'm not tryin to be a jerk thats just my opinion, I believe a forurm dedicated to the show should at least run parralel in terms of what can/can't be said.

I have to agree with the other guys. There seems to be some sort of T-n-T forum hierarchy that looks down on people whom don't know T-n-T at a personal level or are,t regular callers or whatever. At least tht's the vibe I got from the Jeremy Tribute Thread.

I don't think the other guys think that their is a TnT forum hierarchy. Donnie, jpa, mike - correct me if I am wrong? I will say that in the Jeremy thread that those of us that liked Jeremy are sad that he is leaving because he is a great guy. When something bad happens publicly to a nice guy, people tend to get emotional and some people do take the critics on Jeremy personal especially in a "tribute" thread.
