| Memorial Day The Memorial Day weekend is almost upon us. The National Holiday Act of 1971 changed the observance of Memorial Day from its original date of May 30th to “create a long weekend”…I am sure it is a long weekend to the loved ones of the servicemen and women who perished in the line of duty, which we honor and remember on this sacred day. I often speak of our armed forces on this board because they deserve to be recognized, and I am thankful for their sacrifice and undying patronage to our beloved country. 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day is the National Moment of Remembrance…please take a few moments at that time to remember the fallen. And to the servicemen who are members of TnTU…you have my eternal respect and admiration. |

| Re: Memorial Day And I can't wait for this weekend to be over with.... 1 and 1/2 months of work for an hours ceremony and 5 hours of putting up and taking down Flags... Not to mention three dance recitals....  I'll be ready for a drink come Monday night....

SW Iowa News - Serving is in Shenandoah Legion commander's blood Lots of miss spellings and miss- quotes........ Oh well...

| Re: Memorial Day I just want to say that our Memorial Day Observance, down here, went great! I didn't screw up... Probably the largest crowd that we have had in the last 15 years!!! You all might see it. There were two Omaha World Herald reporters down here to cover it... Now I can stop shaking.... (whew!)
