And I'll be testing for the levels of Nitrates. When Nitrate hits 40ppm or so then time for a partial water change. I'll probably change about 200 gallons at a time using a siphon gravel vacuum.

And for the sides I have one of these:

A bigger tank makes it easier to clean? Seems logical to me!

Dave, I think you are just jealous because Bud's tank is bigger than yours, and contains more nitrates.

I actually have zero nitrates right now.

Not necessarily easier to clean. Better wording would be the larger the tank the easier to maintain proper water chemistry.

Wow. That is incredible looking. I used to have a large aquarium many years ago that appears to have been about the same size, but I guess I didn't know what I was doing as it seemed to be more of a pain maintaining it than it was worth. My hat's off to you for a job well done. Absolutely beautiful.

In other words water chemistry fluctuation is not as apparent or will not spike in a matter of hours with a bigger tank....

Thanks 2ox. Maybe someday when the kids are older and I could spend more time with it. Salt requires a lot more work but you are right, a tank that size would be ultra sweet with salt fish in it.

Opera house is gone and I pushed the large center driftwood more towards the back so the fish aren't always hiding behind it. And the tank is now fully stocked. Time to watch them grow.
