| House Cleaning... Just got done doing my yearly tank cleaning...   ^That's my first Angel, "Killer", Had him for over a year now...  ^My second Angel, 6 months old now....

| Re: House Cleaning... Sweet tank Thender! Looks good with lots of plants. Unfortunately my fish will end up tearing up all of my plants. By the looks of that filter intake you have a Penguin with a Bio-wheel. If that's the case then take that UGF and throw it in the trash.

| Re: House Cleaning... I run two bio wheels plus the UGF... I will always run a UGF just for the extra oxygen input... It helps with the de-nitrification process... My two bio wheels have three filter surfaces and two wheels for bacteria plus the gravel bed... All oxygen induced... Poor mans trickle filter...

| Re: House Cleaning... I'm just not a fan of UGFs. The wet/dry bio-wheels will handle the nitrification just fine, wet/dry rules when it comes to nitrosonomas and nitrobacter. I ran a Pro 60 bio-wheel set up on my old 55. I Loved it. Do your Angels get free food from your live bearers? PS. UGF's themselves don't add oxygen. Oxygen is introduced to the water through surface agitation.

| Re: House Cleaning... The angels could be snacking, But I have never seen any midnight snacking... And, Yes, I do know how UGF's work... I have always run one and I have never had any adverse affects from running one...

| Re: House Cleaning... I'm not telling you how they work just that they don't add oxygen to the water. I used to run one in my 29 many moons ago then I discovered bio-wheels. The UGF did just fine but I just found that the bio-wheels did just as good of a job on thier own. But like they say. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. PS. Nice tank.

| Re: House Cleaning... My pump did not handle the head pressure on my UV system, was also very loud, so I'm looking for a new pump. My wife is going to kill me as the ones I have looked at that will handle the head and the flow are almost $300. The zoom on our digital camera took a shit so we kind of need a new camera also. I just started to get our savings account built back up and buying both will almost wipe it out. Errrr.
