  | Nascar I know this goes against all that is good with TnT but is anyone else out there at least remotely a NASCAR fan and looking forward to the season?

|  THIS THREAD BELONGS IN THE MISC AREA.....NOT SPORTS!!! NASCAR IS NOT A SPORT......... mix in a right hand turn and even a small bit of athletic ability and you might be able to call it a sport!!!!!!

| I would try to argue but it would really get us nowhere. I said the same thing about cheerleading until I had to go to one of NU cheerleader practices, I now classify that as a sport and there is no way you would change my mind on that one

| Nascar is as much a sport as some of the other activities under the "sport" umbrella... Aren't some Nascar races on road courses...I think I watched part of a race at Watkins Glen and there were right hand turns, left hand turns, hills, etc. Nascar never really interested me...I watch golf instead (P.S. You probably don't consider golf a sport either, but that's not for this particular thread)

| Golf,bowling,curling,etc... are all in a different category.When you get done with a round of golf,are you physically tired?The walking doesn't count,if you actually do it.But you are not.Football,volleyball,basketball are just examples of "sports".You have to be in good physical condition to play.You dont in golf or bowling.They are just drinking games.

| golf I am on the fence on since the more athletic you are the farther and better you hit the ball, in my case walking through the jungle, swimming and weight lifting (beer) probably make it more of a sport, bowling is definately not a sport.

| yeah i have to draw the line at bowling too.... i mean if you can eat and drink "WHILE" doing an activity (and in my case it makes you better to drink) then its not a sport. At least when i golf i have to set the beer down when i swing!!

|  One can mock all sports depending on the definition. I could use the arguments against bowling and golf to football. How tough is it to eat up to 350 lbs. and take up space like a lot of defensive tackles? Ever notice when a DT picks up a fumble and tries to run that the piano lands on his back after about 10 yards? The epitome of athletic prowess! |

| Ok,rick,that's fine.What arguement do you have for the quarterback,running back,wide receivers,cornerbacks,safeties,linebackers,ends(on both sides)?Trying to tell me there is no physical ability that you need to train for involved there?

| Physical Ability I only meant that physical ability and skill are necessary in all sports, just not in the same amounts. Some require more skill and others require more physical ability, and in differing amounts of both. Otherwise, anything less than a fight to the death would not be considered a sport. |

| good debate guys. there is one thing i will never consider a sport and that is figure skating  . it dose take skill and is hard but it is just not a sport. what do you think THE mike.
