Interesting that you bring this game up now, I was wondering if anybody in here was a PA fan. They just talked about this yesterday and there seems to be a fair amount of skepticism in the gaming world regarding those screens.

Oblivion

I might get this game (or rent it) for the 360. Does anybody have it for the 360 or the PC?

I'm not much of an RPG guy, but will it make me one? I don't want to think that I could remember concoctions for poisons and spells, that's just too geeky for me.

you dont need to remember anything. Oblivion has very good in game menus that help you do what you want with ease. If you want to you can just go around and kill things with your sword. But Oblivion offers plenty of depth as well. also i dont recommend renting it, if you want to get into this game (and you will once you play it) you will need to sink a large chunk of your life into it and 1 week just isn't enough time.

Personally i play my copy on the 360 but it is up to you what you want. The PC version will have more content (in terms of FREE mods) that Live can't give, but i have always enjoyed the console experience more than PC.

Re: Oblivion

I'm way to poor for a 360 still. I'll stick with halo 2 on xbox live. Anyone else game on live? I play tiger woods 06, halo, and counterstrike currently.

ummm not to nitpick but shouldn't this thread be merged with the video game thread. they are both going in the same direction.

I just got Cox internet for my 360 so i didn't play much live with xbox. plus all of my live enabled games are for the 360.

EDIT:thanx for merging

Yep, I anxiously await Penny Arcade comics, and also Ctrl Alt Del Comics and Cyannide and Happiness comics. I have alot of free time. But regarding the pictures. I've heard they are actually concept art, but what the actual game will be like. The whole concept they have with it sounds really cool. Like the way you hold the controller is the way the gun appears on screen. So you can go all gangster if you'd like.

The "screens" are concept pics...I don't think the revolution will be anywhere near that powerful.

I am still going to buy one as soon as it comes out though. probably just for the controller. every game gets radicaly changed for the better IMO. imagine playing Super Monkey Ball with that controller.

FYI, I merged the other thread with this thread, in case you were wondering where the other was.

On second thought, I shouldn't have said anything, I think I confused myself.

Re: The Video Game Thread

I just got through a little bit more of Oblivion. it is so damn fun. Mostly i have just been wondering around the place looking for things to kill. some parts are very difficult and i had to play through them a couple time. also some vampire gave me his "disease"...sort of freaked me out.

i definitely recommend picking this up dave. its not really a geek game and it is far more n00b friendly than Morrowind.

Re: The Video Game Thread

Right now I'm going back and forth between three GBA games. Yoshi's Island:Super Mario Advance 3, Kingdom Hearts:Chain Of Memories and I am STILL playing Final Fantasy IV. I only have to kill a few more monsters, then I will finally be done with it.

Re: The Video Game Thread

If anybody here has a DS (if you don’t you can probably find a used one for less than $100) you should check out Brain Age. This game is amazingly fun and implements the mic function better than any other game I’ve seen (except Nintendogs). Basically you go through a series of fun minigames and the doc. tells you how old your brain is then you can do several training exercises and play over 100 sudoku puzzles to try to reduce your brains age. The game only records your brain age once a day so playing little everyday is encouraged more than playing like 5 hours once a week. Plus this game only comes with a $20 price tag so it's relatively cheap. My brain was in its 80's, which is just this side of dead. Fortunately I have reduced it to around 40. I still have a lot of work to do.

I was thinking about buying that game, but I want to make sure I have enough money to buy New Super Mario Bros. in about two and a half weeks.

this is one of the cheapest DS games out right now but if you are on a strict budget i would definitely say get Mario before this, especially if you don't enjoy sudoku since it counts for about 60% of the gameplay.

Re: The Video Game Thread

Just nearly everywhere, if you go to www.nintendo.com they've changed it. I prefer "Revolution", but its only a name. They could have called it "Clown Turd" and Id still buy it.

Re: The Video Game Thread

I get e-mails from Nintendo. I wonder why they didn't send me one about that...

Well, you're right about the name not being that big of a deal, but still. You would think that they could come up with one better than that.

Re: The Video Game Thread

I agree completely. The way I see it though is around a 200-250 price, complete Nintendo library, Wifi, new way to play games; the controller. I'll buy one for sure. Then if Super Smash Bros. is a launch title I'll buy two. I'm not sure why though.

Well, last time I checked, Super Smash Bros. was listed as a launch title.
