About a month ago, Rick pulled a very weak, injured dog from a pond
and the dog was in very bad shape. Rick took "Toad" to the Blair Small Animal Clinic. Toad was weak and dehydrated and it appeared that a car had hit him, he staggered near a pond, fell in and was in the cold water for
1-2 days. After about two weeks of fluids and steroid treatments, Dr.
Dave Johnson said a decision should probably be made, that
it appears that Toad is paralyzed. The non-profit group that helps pay for medical care of animals in need in Washington County board members agreed to have Dr. J do what he "felt was best", assuming he would be euthanized. Dr. J called us the other day and said he just couldn't put Toad down - he was just too sweet. But he took Toad "off our clock" as far as billing goes and continued to watch him and let him heal. He was happy to report that Toad is walking and ready to go to a foster/permanent home where he can continue to recuperate in peace and quiet. He should go to a home without small kids or other dogs as he's very unstable on his feet, but making progress daily. Toad is a black and white mutt with big, sorry eyes. He's a sweet dog and needs a good home where he can have a second chance at life. If you can provide that, please contact pm me.

I wish I could help. The Pug, The Puppy and my our little Monster would terrorize him. I hope he finds a good home !!!

I wish that I could help too. My two dogs and the wifes daycare wouldn't help Toad.
